Duplo isn't cheap, as you probably know, and in my opinion many of the sets don't seem to give you as much bang for your buck as they could. This set, however, delivers. Three minifigs, 6 animals, a tractor and trailer, fences, many excellent structural building pieces. A terrific set on its own, and adds a lot of possibilities to an existing collection. My 2.5 & 4.5 year old kids were both smitten right away, and spent all day on & off "doing the farm." And I actually found this set on *clearance,* literally half off, in a local big box store, so keep your eyes peeled!

Our granddaughter will be three in early April. She played with this LEGO kit yesterday for the first time and loved it. I put the barn together with her help fairly quickly. Then she arranged the animals, moved fences, opened doors and windows, played with the tractor, etc. She had a great time, especially correcting me when I would put a cow or chicken where it clearly did not belong. She has already announced that when she comes back to see us in a few days, we should take apart our existing arrangement (the one shown on the box) and build something new. That's part of the beauty of LEGO. The building possibilities are endless. Great for a child's creativity. Plus, the kits are just fun to build and play with. The blocks are extremely durable, and none of the blocks in this kit are really small. The barn also has a winch that can be used to raise items to the barn's upper level.

My whole family has been fans of LEGO for a long time. This kit clearly won the approval of the small girl at our house yesterday.

My boys, ages almost 4 and almost 2, LOVE this set. They love the adorable little animals and the big tractor! The possibilities are endless with this set. They use their imagination and spend hours of pretend play. Goes great with our other duplos. We love this set and would highly recommend it!

I gave the LEGO Duplo Legoville Big Farm (5649)to my 3yr old grandson for Christmas. It is by far his favorite gift this year to the exclusion of all the many presents under the tree. Because he's so curious about animals & loves his Duplo blocks, my daughter thought this would be a good fit. Most assuredly, the farm will provide the little guy hours of critical eye-hand coordination, analytical skill development, farm vocabulary and an understanding of farming, animals and crops, and how this relates to the food we eat. The Duplo Farm will provide years of the same for his baby sister too.

The few toys my grandson requested from Santa--all heavily advertised "Toy Story" related--were put aside the minute THE farm was unwrapped.

When I purchased the Duplo 5649 farm set a month ago from Amazon, it was about $51 without shipping or tax, quite a value in my book.

Of all the 'toys' I've purchased for my three children and five grandkids, there is no more worthwhile, lasting gift than Legos.

Our family's obsession with Legos is now in its second generation. Thirtysome years ago, my son had accumulated thousands of Lego pieces as he worked on more and more complicated sets--always first on his list for birthdays & Christmas well into junior high! His 7yr old son is seriously into the intricate Lego "Star Wars" series for several years now, always first on his wish list too! Must be something in the genes?

This set has lots of pieces to make a fun barn, many animals, 3 people, and a tractor base. Provides hours of creative playtime again & again for my 18 month old son and myself.

Both my grand daughters,aged 4&2,are delighted with this LEGO kit.As an extra to existing Zoo kit and large baseplates and DUPLO blocks, the figuars and vehicles have proved a splendid hit.

Great toy, durable and educational, I recomend for all childrens, the choice for the little ones.
Lego is the best toy for kids

I am a bif Lego fan, so I am happy to see my son interact with Duplo sets to start. This particular set is great. It comes with a vehicle and many typical farm animals, but the great feauture of this set is that it perfectly interacts with other Duplo sets.

Since there are many spare building blocks, the kids can add on to the barn, or play on a different imagination pane. For my son, this barn is always on fire as the fire truck is permanently parked there, but what is encouraging, is that Duplo lets your tot imagination go wild. Cows driving the truck, grandma sleeping the second floor with the chickens (I am aware is some states that is typical), all is valid and easily blended with this set.

As for durability, I think this set will endure my son's early childhood. Very much tot proof.

The over-all shopping process was very easy and friendly.
The 2 years old boy loves it.
Since it was a birthday present I was disappointed there was no gift option.

My brother and I grew up with the typical toy division; dolls for me, cars for him.
However, we were both most interested in building fantasy cities, and outlandish buildings with our lego's.
If you are concerned about genderizing your child with masculine or feminine toys, this is the best uni-sex gift for boys and girls.
Better yet, you can keep expanding the collection. A child can never have too much Duplo blocks. My three year old nephew is too spoiled, but his Duplo is his favorite. Yes, this stuff is pricey, but it is extremely safe and durable.
