3.0 out of 5 stars I'm torn October 18, 2013

I'm torn about this product! I bought it as a lightening deal, so instead of the $86.95 listed, I bought it for $61.53. Now I see it listed 20% off at $69.86 (making me think the lightening deal wasn't SO great). If you look at the picture, it doesn't show any Lego box. In hindsight that maybe is obvious then I shouldn't expect to get one, but in ordering I naturally thought it would be delievered in a box.

I read another reviewer that said there are no instructions included, and I was okay with that as long as the box had the pictures on it. In fact, there is neither. I posted a picture of the product as received on the product page, take a look. It arrives in a brown box (packaged in a second brown box) and each of the "scenes" is in its own plastic packaging. I bought this as a Christmas gift for my four and seven year olds, however not having the Lego box makes it a little less exciting to open Christmas morning as they'll wonder if it's just more of the same lego pieces we already have a big box of.

I'm definitely glad I didn't order this as a gift for someone else's child, no box makes it hard to give. I haven't opened the packages yet as I'm still debating returning it, so I can't speak to the quality, but they look great.

My recommendation is that if you're looking for lego pieces to give to your kids, I love the figures and the price is decent. If you're looking for any type of "wow" factor as a gift, look elsewhere.

If I decide to keep this and manage to print out the picture to work off of, I will update the review at that time!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Bargain Box of Blocks October 17, 2013

This was a really great deal! The grandkids will love these LEGOs. At first I was disappointed that there were no instructions for the 8 projects included in the package. But when I got online to write this review, I found the instructions were available to print out. There are quite a few pages, but totally worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, creative fun! December 15, 2013
First of all... this is not a Lego "set" in the terms that one generally thinks when buying Lego products. It is not something that you buy off the shelf in a store, it is a LEGO Education Series Set.

It comes in a brown box with little more than a simple label indicating what is inside. What's inside? A bunch of bags of Lego bricks and accessory pieces.

It does not come with instructions. It is not a model set. It is a collection of bricks to promote creativity. If you go on the Lego website [...] and click on "Resources" you will find all the instructions to build the pictured scene set ups. Yes, it would be nice if they included these in the box, however the point is that this is a "set" to promote creative building and not just building from instruction manuals.

It is a large set with lots of play possibilities.
