4.0 out of 5 stars Lucius Malfoy, Dobby, Riddle's Diary, AND a Gryffindor Sock!
This is a rather simple set, but its the only place where you can get Dobby and Mr. Malfoy so that is the main reason to buy it. There was some confusion at lego about Malfoy's hair -- in early pictures it was short and black, and then Lego went back and changed it to a longer blonde piece. . .but they didn't change that in the instruction book so don't be concerned if...

This is a rather simple set, but its the only place where you can get Dobby and Mr. Malfoy so that is the main reason to buy it. There was some confusion at lego about Malfoy's hair -- in early pictures it was short and black, and then Lego went back and changed it to a longer blonde piece. . .but they didn't change that in the instruction book so don't be concerned if the minifig directions show a short blonde hairpiece for Lucius when actually the only piece included is the longer blonde. Dobby's head is not as rigid as Yoda or the Gringotts Goblins, it is a little bit softer like Hagid's beard, which I find to be in improvement. Even on so small a set Lego managed to have a hidden compartment and two windows. Some accessories are 2 flame torches, Tom Riddle's diary, and a Gryffindor sock piece so that you can act out one of the final scenes of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The sock piece is just a grey 2 x 1 plate with a smooth top and a picture of the sock on it. If one were to look at it proportionally, its a very big sock, but that's a minor issue. The colour scheme matches with the other Harry Potter legos, it is 70 pieces and the set number is 4731.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Lego set for young Potter fans, January 1, 2003

My 6-year-old son got this for Christmas. (He also got a lot of other Harry Potter Lego sets, since he's obsessed with Harry Potter).
He likes this one, because it's simple enough for him to put together himself. He's just started learning how to put Lego sets together (as opposed to the bigger preschool size), and this one is very good for someone who's just getting into Legos.
It, like all Lego sets, comes with instructions that have pictures of how to assemble it, so a child doesn't have to be able to read to figure out how to get it together.
Also, my son likes the little Dobby figure.

4.0 out of 5 stars Buy For Charectors, August 14, 2003

The reason I bought this set is because I didnt have enough money to buy the Chamber of Secrets and I needed a bad guy (Lucius Malfoy). Dobby also is in the set which also adds to the quality of play. You cant do much with the "enviroment" so dont buy it unless you have other sets.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great set, June 3, 2003
A Kid's Review

I am obssesed with Harry Potter and Harry Potter LEGOs so I had to buy this set. It is a must buy for the castle though it doesn't seem like it. This set would also be worth the small amount of money(I should know because I buy all of my LEGOs with my allowance) even if it only had Dobby. The fact that it comes with Dobby is a good enough reason to buy this set because you can act out other scenes that have Dobby in them. This set comes with a Dobby figure (Dobby is diffirent than most LEGO figures) and a Lucius Malfoy figure and has 70 pieces.
