This lego set was much smaller than it appeared to be and was very dissapointed in the product.

Our oldest daughter who is 19, grew up with Harry Potter and used to spend hours building the Harry Potter Lego Sets, (if she'd only have saved them!!) and now it's my youngest daughter's turn. At eleven, this was her first kit. This is an inexpensive smaller set and she had a great time putting it together. We built this little Dobby kit in an hour or two and had a great time. This kit has a lot of cute little details such as Malfoy falling, little flames, and Dobby is totally sweet with his little sock!

The new generation of Harry Potter Legos that are hitting the stores now are fabulous! Have you seen Hogwart Castle? It looks brilliant. This set though, is small and fun with a lot of special detail to make it really cool when it's put together. With winter coming I think these new sets would make rainy days fun and renew the wonder of Harry Potter for the younger kids. I'd like to get all of the new sets and if this Dobby kit is a sampling of what the other sets have in store, I think that it is going to be a fun winter! These Lego sets are really just fun and interesting. The kids have to use follow the instructions and think about what they are doing. I think they are great learning tools that create a few hours of fun too and the result of the finished product gives the kids a feeling of accomplishment because they really do turn out wonderful. If they want to, they can tear them apart and putting them back together again so there is a facet of being able to use them over and over if they'd like.

These kits make following directions and constructing something fun. Harry Potter has always been big in our family and I am so glad Lego has created this new generation of Lego's for the kids to enjoy now. This small Freeing Dobby Lego kit made the afternoon special. I look forward to the other new Harry Potter Lego sets for lots of special afternoons.

I love this set! A lot of details such as dobby's soft head and pointy noise. Being a Lego and Harry potter fan, this set is so much fun to have.

My 5 yr old son spent about 20 minutes assembling this small set. He loved putting it together by himself, as his older 10 yr old brother was not allowed to help! There are several accessories which my son loved: a spider, a broom, and a little mecanism to eject Lucius Malfoy... At this price, this is a great little set!

My kids love Harry Potter but I refuse to shell out a couple hundred bucks for their amazing sets. We got this one for our youngest Potter-fan... and it was warmly received. True, it was put together in under 10 minutes, but our kids have played with this set continuously for weeks. They even keep the "Dobby" character in their pockets. Clearly, it was money well-spent.

My grandkids are totally into LEGO, and they love Harry Potter (who doesn't?!), as well. We got them Hagrid's Hut for Christmas, and also the Harry Potter LEGO board game, and they liked them so much that we're collecting the whole set. "Freeing Dobby" was a special request. The kids love putting these together, and they don't even know how it uses their analytical skills! We spend hours together working on these; next we'll be getting the Quiddich set and the Minotaur game. LEGO toys last forever; my son still has a large rubber trashcan full of them from when he was their age. These toys are good for all ages; I have a blast myself helping the kids build the kits. I'm looking forward to working on more with them; hopefully we can someday build Hogwarts.

Dobby the house Elf is my favorite "Harry Potter" character, so I knew I had to own this Lego set!

The set represents the scene near the end of "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" where Harry tricks Mr. Malfoy into freeing his house elf Dobby by accidently giving him a sock.

The set itself is small, but the main attraction is the minifigures and there is no dissapointment there!

You get Dobby, Harry Potter (with reversable "angry/happy" head), and Mr. Malfoy (with reversable "normal/Deatheater mask" head)

Well, I recomend this set to any "Harry Potter" fan. You can't really go wrong with Lego!

My son wanted this set for Christmas and since the price was right for a Harry Potter lego set, he got it. I asked him today what he thought of it. He said he loved it and it's awesome (direct quote). He's 9 and had it put together pretty quickly one afternoon. It is fun to have the Dobby and Lucius Malfoy Lego guys to play with his other HP lego set too, since different characters come with each set (except Harry who you always get). No complaints at all, it is the usual "just right" Lego quality and is a cute set. It was smaller and less expensive than the big sets but still unique and fun.

Recieved this item from BatGirls Book Cave. Was impressed it arrived so quickly until I opened the shipping box. No packaging material what so ever. One corner of the leggo box is dented in and I don't mean lightly. Smashed in would be a better term. The other 3 corners looks like a small animal chewed off the colors. If it was just for me I wouldn't care too much but this was going to be a gift for someone. Since it is a gift I don't want to open up the leggo box to see if anything important inside is broken. Now I am even a little embarassed to give it to them. Disapointing. BatGirls Book Cave need to tighten up their quality control/shipping department. Beware. Won't be buying anything from them again.
