I've always wanted a lego train, and what a perfect opportunity to get one! In this set you have the engine and one passenger car of the Hogwarts Express, along with a mini station. You have Harry, Hermione, Ron, Hedwig, and Trevor (Neville's toad) along with a holographic chocolate frog card. The engine of the train looks very authentic, allthough I don't see why it needs the mechanism to shoot baggage out of it (especially since no matter how I build it the mechanism never works as pictured in the instructions). With a magnet it attaches to the passenger car where you have just enough room for everyone. It is difficult at first to get everyone seating with their cloaks but if you fold them under the figures should sit with no problems. There is an easy removable top on the passenger car to let you have the figures interact on their trip to Hogwarts. The station is my favorite feature. On one side is platform 9 3/4 and on the other is the wall you must run through. It comes with all sorts of luggage carriers and trolleys as well as a broom, a lamp, and a garbage container. One of the best Harry Potter lego sets, at a nice middle range price. Legos are very durable and educational -- I had one piece missing from this set and I contacted lego.com and they sent it to me at no charge! A great company and a great book/movie tie in.

MAN, this is the best Lego ive ever seen. Even though it says it "Doesnt run on LEGO tracks" it does! You just need 3 sets of wheels and a motor. This is the best Harry Potter Lego too. It has a lot of little details like Potions book, Scrabbers, etc. This is a most to anyone who wants a HP Lego that is why i gave it 3 sets of 5 Stars. IT IS A MUST!!!!

This is the second hardest to find and second most expensive Harry Potter Lego set! With the popularity of the movie/book, Harry Potter is a hit, ergo, this set is hard to find and sold out within days once it is restocked in shelves! One day there were 4 of these sets at my local Toyrus, the next, when I went, I just got the last one! This set has 410 pieces and is one of the coolest Harry Potter lego sets out there! The main model can be made as the King's Cross/Platform 9 3/4 station and the scarlet steam engine: The Hogwarts Express. The set is very expensive for something, when completed and constructed, is quite smaller than imagined. The train itself should have more passenger cars, because in the movie, the train has three passenger cars, and in the set, it has only one! The steam engine and passenger car are both detailed and very cool! At least the train is bigger/taller than the Bachman Hogwarts Express Electric Train set in size. This set would be nice if it came with tracks, since it is expensive. The box says that it doesn't run on lego tracks, but some people say it does. I have no idea. The set includes: The little details of the Station include lamposts, a Platform 9 3/4 sign, a trash can, a book, a sweeping broom(not a flying broomstick), and even a clock at the top of the station. You have to put stickers on some lego pieces to add extra detail. The other side of the station is King's Cross, where you can go threw the middle barrier of Platforms 9 and 10 to a spinning door sort of contraption and then you are at Platform 9 3/4. The train details include, hidden compartments where a chest with keys can pop out(who know what the keys are for??), a removable roof on the Passenger compartment to reveal Harry, Ron, and Hermione sitting down(it's hard to sit them down with there capes), Hedwig on a seat, and an Albus Dumbledore holographic wizard card on one of the seats. With the detailed color/picture instructions, you can build this set in less than 2 hours! This set include small pieces so, younger kids may not be able to use this set in case they choke on the tiny pieces. Even though the train cannot move on the lego tracks, and doesn't come with some, it is easy to move them around carpeted areas or any smooth floor area! But all in all despite the fact it only has two cars and not more, the whole set is wonderful. This is one set to get, if you can find it, because I was just lucky enough to get one. Happy hunting.

I sent this toy sight-unseen to 2 of my grandchildren in another city, ages 4 and 6. The 4-year old loves Legos and likes to put things together and will spend a lot of time working seriously on his little projects. I thought they would both like it and knew their mother would help with the parts that were too hard. Mom appropriated the toy when it arrived and spent a delirious 2 hours putting it together all by herself, allowing only small assistance from the children. It was a huge hit. I think the children have had a chance to play with it sometimes since then. This is a must for Lego Lovers who also like Harry Potter.

The best of the Harry Potter Lego Sets,

My 9-year old and 6-year old sons received several Harry Potter Lego sets for Christmas and the Hogwarts Express is by far the best of the bunch!! Although all of the Harry Potter Legos are realistic to the movie and books, the Hogwarts Express is sturdy and therefore more fun to play with than the other sets. Definately worth the money for the Harry Potter Lego fan.

The Harry Potter train I think is the best lego set of the Harry Potter series. I think it is good because it's one of the only sets that have all three main characters. The good thing about the train is that you can make up stories with it. If you have the train you should really get another set so you don't have just the train.

The Harry Potter Legos are beyond great. The train is beautifully designed. It doesn't fall apart as you might expect. It is extremely accurate with the movie. The colors are exact. The train station is great. The wall moves to reveal platform9 and three-quarters just like in the movie. It comes with Harry, Ron, and Hermione lego figures. It even comes with some janitor equipment! This is a must have for Lego and Harry Potter fans alike!

The Hogwarts Express - surely one of the most realistic pars to the Harry Potter Lego collection. I've played with others and am evious of everyone who has the red and black engine to join Gringotts and the Diagon Alley shops, to Hogwarts and the grounds. With the removable lid, and luggage ejection in the engine it's a pretty cool train and the platform stands out too. The sign hanging out, the luggage waiting to be loaded, the clock etc. But the thing that really does it for me is the secret door. A normal lego piece converted as though it were created for this soul purpose; a spinning wall, one side opening on to the muggle world, showing a train timetable, the other opening out on to the platform. How more realistic can you get. Fantastic.

My daughter was so happy to receive this set for Christmas. She assembled it all herself and felt very proud for doing so. She still enjoys it. Her only wish is that it was at least one car longer.
