4.0 out of 5 stars Lego AT ST
This is a great lego set. It is very detailed, and is much larger than it seems in pictures. It has many moving parts, and amazes me every time I look at it. However, it is fragile, and a bit wobbly. It is more for display than for play. It looks so great on a table, however, that any star wars fan would love to have it in his or her house.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great for display .... but not for play
My son loves playing with the Lego Star Wars sets but this one was a disappointment. He enjoyed assembling it and it is a fine looking piece but it does not stand up by itself and the top is easily disconnected. It's really only for display so be forewarned. Also comes with no Star Wars figures unlike many of the others. A rare Lego disappointment.

The LEGO Imperial All Terrain Scout Transport, first unveiled in Episode VI, is a BIG Lego model. The point of getting it was 1) revisiting those great Star Wars adventures, and 2) having a family activity in building it.

It's Star Wars! The bigger these models are, the more 'real" they seem. And this walker has over 1,000 pieces and stands over 16 inches tall. It's not a toy to be played with. It is a model to be displayed. Thus, it is a "revisiting" of the original Star Wars.

There are some models with a thousand pieces that seem to build themselves, it is so easy. This particular model took a number of hours. The instructions come in two books, a 74 page and a 54 page set of instructions (the legs, and the body). It is a great 2 person project, because one person can complete one leg while the other is working on the base of the body, and then you can switch jobs. I'd say there is 4-5 hours here.

It is a nice model, a bit on the wobbly side, but that's because it is heavy. It looks like a AT-ST, and not just like a Lego model of one. This is a good model to add to your Star Wars collection.

As others have written, this is a great collector item, but not suitable as a toy. I'd recommend Battle of Endor for a a walker as a toy.

I've always been a LEGO lover at heart. The AT-ST is another fine LEGO set in the Star Wars line. It is more of a collectors item though, I'll warn you. If your buying this for your 8 year old son, don't. Not that it is fragile, but it is certainly not as durable as some of their sets.

I have it up in my office displayed.

My 9 year old son loves this lego project. It's not a project that is durable for playing. I made the purchase based on having fun with following instructions and to end up with a nice project.

5.0 out of 5 stars NOT A TOY!!!, December 21, 2008

At first I was skeptical to build this guy, because it is the biggest lego set I've built to date (1000+ Peices). It is pretty intimidating when you open the box and see every single piece, but with this set I just happened to find the peice I was looking for when I needed it during construction, I guess that is part of the brilliance of the Lego brand.

This model is huge and the head is very flimsy, if it wasn't for this one rubber band that Lego included, the head would be falling apart all over the place, so kudos to Lego for that rubber band, that saved this set for me.

Something else that should be kept in mind is that this set is not a toy, there are no mini-figs, its pretty much strictly for collectors and people that enjoy building Lego sets and don't have a problem putting them aside, any attempt to play with this thing it will break due to it's sheer size, detail level and flimsiness.

Other than that, you can't be the price of [...] bucks. That is the reason I purchased this set and was blown away by the size and detail level of the model, it looks like something you would spend [...] dollars on, So I am incredibly happy with it. Love it!

Along with my two other pieces, this is a great compliment to the Empire. I wish the scale was a little more in line with the others (AT-AT) but that's being nit-picky.

This took me about two days to put together (maybe 8-10 hours). I like to take my time and enjoy the detail. The model is TALL! Not so bad to move from one spot to another.

I am a little boy trapped in an adult body, at least that is how it seems when I have the chance to built Lego's. I love Lego's. I love Star Wars. Put the two together and there isn't anything to find fault with. Easy enough to build, but enough pieces to require a little time.
