5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a US release!
I was absolutely thrilled to find this set at my local Lego Store the other day - this is the first time Lego has released their themed Advent set to their US stores and website - so I snapped it up lickety split! 1.0 out of 5 stars Great set but the markup is ridiculous
Great set but the markup is ridiculous... MSRP on this set is $35, a full $30 less than the current price on Amazon. It's offensive that Amazon allows sellers that they do fulfillment for to price like this. Have a heart guys, my kids would love this set but I can't support that kind of price gouging.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a US release!, September 2, 2010

I was absolutely thrilled to find this set at my local Lego Store the other day - this is the first time Lego has released their themed Advent set to their US stores and website - so I snapped it up lickety split! My 8 year-old son won't get to see it until Advent, but being a huge Lego fan myself I opened it up at the end and slid the tray out to take a sneak peek at the 24 mini building sets inside.

Though not a lot of pieces overall - only 167 total - this is nonetheless a really fantastic set for Kingdoms & Castle fans, as well as for the general Lego collector. There are nine minifigures, including a blue wizard, a queen and a maiden, a very cool blacksmith, and other assorted members of the Dragon & King's armies, and all come with nice weapons or accessories, like a wand for the wizard and a frog for the queen. The mini building sets are all medieval-themed, and include a treasure chest full of jewels, a prison door with a couple of sets of handcuffs, weapon carts and racks, a barrel of mead, and - my favorite - a sword stuck in a stone. December 1st can't come too soon!

Our six year old son loves this advent lego calendar. SO much that he and his friends have started a lego club where they predict what will be in the next day's door and then show each other what they received. He loves getting a little surprise to build each day. Last year he needed help assembling the accessories but not this year. Can't wait to see what he says on Christmas Day when Santa brings the castle set. The Lego advent calendars have become a Christmas tradition in our family.

We have been purchasing the Lego Advent "City" version calendar for the last few years. It is always a huge hit with our kids and hotly anticipated. We decided to upgrade this year and go for the Lego Kingdoms calendar. While twice the price it featured upgraded figures and some really cool additions that my kids loved. It is pricey for an Advent calendar but if your kids are Lego-freaks like mine it will be well worth your money. We considered it an early Christmas present and they loved it!

This is our second year doing a Lego advent calendar. All three of our kids, ages 8, 10 and 11 love to make a mini figure each day. The Kingdoms set is really cute.

THis is our second year doing a Lego Advent Calendar. My kids ages 11, 6 and 4 LOVE IT! They race down the steps each morning to see what they are going to open. The love getting the little figures which are usually not available unless you buy a large Lego set. We will do this for a many years to come...

This is a great toy to have for Christmas or for the month of December. The child can select a small door each day and put together a small lego figure. It's perfect to keep them content before the Big Christmas Day.
