This review is from: LEGO Kingdoms Mini Figure Set #7955 Wizard (Toy)
The Wizard is a wonderful, neat, little impluse buy set that will compliment any fantasy /castle, etc. setting. At $3.99 retail, it's a fair price.- Great Wizard mini-fig with a black beard (you normally see 'old' grey wizards). - Rich green body and hat. - Wizard's staff/wand. - Great gold dragon graphic on hat. No torso print but legs have graphics. Right leg graphic looks like there's a small pouch and vile. Studded metal belt graphic about waist. - A scroll tile on stand with printing which reads..."You are far more powerful than you can ever imagine..." - Small green dragon familiar - A small table with 2 viles for potions. There is a companion impulse Kingdoms set, the Jester that has a small stage with pennant/flags adorned on top and 3 colored studs( red, white and blue) for the Jester (with great head gear) to juggle. Hope Lego adds more of these companion pieces to this line...a Knight with horse and armor, weaponry, etc., a Princess or Queen, a King, even a villanous dark Wizard/warrior would add spice to the line...etc.

One of the few elements of fantasy in the 2010 Kingdoms line,

This is the Green Wizard (7955), a member of the Dragon Army. He and the Castle Jester (7953) are the two minifigures/minisets initially released in the new Kingdoms line in the summer of 2010. At the time of release, the Green Wizard retailed at roughly 4 bucks - a very low price for such an excellent minifigure. The minifigure is the primary draw for this set. The Green Wizard is dressed all in green, has a dragon painted on his hat, a black beard, and a simple brown rod that acts as a wand/walking stick. He complements The Good Wizard (5614) and The Evil Wizard (from set 7093) in the previous Castle line extremely well. The accessories for this figure are very interesting. The first is the small green dragon pet statue. It can rest on the included alchemy table that contains two small beakers and two colored "stud" caps. There is also a book stand and mysterious tome/scroll. The tome/scroll is a single piece with a dragon painted on it and tiny words. If you look very closely, it reads, "You are far more powerfull than you would ever imagine..." The Green Wizard is one of the few elements of fantasy in the new 2010 Kingdoms line. Considering the large amount of fantasy in the previous Castle line that ended in late 2009/early 2010 (skeleton armies, troll warriors, dwarf miners, etc...), this has been a rather shocking development. Because the Green Wizard is packaged as a separate minifigure instead of as part of a larger set, consumers can choose either to buy the minifigure and include fantasy in their LEGO experience or ignore the figure and stick to a more traditional setting.

I'm a big fan of Castle theme since 17 years ago and this set reminds me of that 6020 set (Merlin's shop) from 1993.' I'm not digging that evil wizard from 2007 but this one is cool. The scrool detail looks great so does the dragon logo on the wizard's hat.

What would a castle be without a wizard? A little boring I would think. We already have the LEGO® Kingdoms King's Castle 7946 and although my son usually loves to come up with his own LEGO creations, this set really peaked his interest. So we decided to add the other parts associated with the set. The wizard (with accessories) is a great addition to the set that began with just soldiers and a king. He comes with a set of specific accessories that are unavailable on their own. A mini dragon, two potion viles, and a scroll on a stand (with words of wisdom...). A great addition to the Kingdoms set and a little sorcery for the wizard in all of us.

Was a Christmas present, not a holiday present, for my son. He was happy and enjoys putting Lego's together. He's happy, I am happy. Enough said. He would probably give this item all 5's.

Very cool mini-figure set. It does make me wonder why there aren't more Wizards in the other Kindoms (formerly Castle) sets. It would be cool to have some additional Wizards, perhaps a Merlin character, with a Wizard's Lair building set.Overall for $7, this set is a touch pricey, for what you are getting, but like I said....it is a very cool mini-fig that you can't get in any other current set (that I am aware of). If you collect the Kingdoms/Castle themes, this set is a must have.

I rather liked this little set, it didn't come with many pieces, but the little wizard guy and the baby dragon were awesome.

This Wizard minifigure is a great addition to the Lego Kingdoms line. The figure looks really cool (I love the beard) and comes with some cool accessories. Aside from his hat (with the Dragon Knights insignia) and wand, he comes with a table, some potions, a small dragon and a spellbook on a stand.I bought this minifigure to go with my son's LEGO® Kingdoms Prison Tower Rescue 7947 set, and it totally changed the dynamic of how he played with it. Now the Princess is being held captive by an evil Wizard and not just some random knights. These little minifigures never seem to stick around, especially the better ones like this Wizard. If you're collecting the Lego Kingdoms line, I recommend picking this one up while it's still available and affordable. |
