5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific introduction to the Lego Kingdoms line, October 11, 2010
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: LEGO Kingdoms Prison Carriage Rescue 7949 (Toy)
The Prison Carriage Rescue set was my son's introduction to the Lego Kingdoms line. I loved the Lego Castles line as a kid, and was glad to see my son take an interest in the new version (it was his allowance and his choice). This set comes with a horse, prison carriage and three minifigures - two "good" knights and a "bad" knight. The knights come with all sorts of helmets, swords, shields and other gear.

Complexity: There are exactly 50 pieces in this set, and it's the first Lego set my son - who is almost 5 - was able to build by himself (I helped with the instructions, but he handled all the actual assembly).

Playability: This set has a high fun quotient. They give you enough to stage a basic scenario - one of the good knights busts his friend out of jail - but there are plenty of stories an imaginative kid can come up with. My favorite so far: the incarceration of the LEGO Collectible Minifigure Series 2 Mime for crimes against the kingdom!

This is a terrific introductory set to the Lego Kingdoms line. I can already tell it will be the first of many for our little Lego fan!

This is a great addition to the castle set. Our kids got the big catsle and the medieval market along with a number of smaller add-ons like this one. Lots of fun, and it's wonderful to see our kids on the livingroom floor playing with some imagination.

Was a Christmas present, not a holiday present, for my son. He was happy and enjoys putting Lego's together. He's happy, I am happy. Enough said. He would probably give this item all 5's.

I recently bought the Prison Carriage Rescue for my nephew for Christmas. He had other LEGO "kingdoms" sets and was so excited to get more people to go with. His face just lit up when he saw it!

Our kids LOVE legos, and our daughter is wild for horses. Marry those two and there ya have it. This was a really simple set but was in our budget and has lived up to all of her hopes and dreams. (But we tend to be pleased with small things.) It has several cute, little extras (like tiny flags or flames) that you can insert into the tops of helmets or heads, or the wagon. She loves how the horse's helmet makes his/her eyes turn fiercesome looking. It is a cute set with "wheels that really roll." Now, if she can just ever manage to find it still intact after school each day, when the 2 and 4 year olds have had their coveted turns with it... If not, well then, all the more creating/building/assembling genius she will get to exercise yet again!

This is a great addition to the Lego Kingdoms sets. The black unicorn with prison carriage is very neat. They're great for any kid into castles and knights. Very fun. Great for imaginative play!

These little sets make great sets to start little ones into the world of Lego. But, if you're looking for some of those weird, out-of-ordinary pieces, this one's a good one! We were looking for something like a Roman guard minifigure and this set has 3 of the King's men in it. Great stuff! This set goes together rather quickly for an experienced builder - exactly 3 minutes actually in the backseat of the car too. But, as I mentioned, this set has gone the distance in playtime and not fallen apart. It even has an interesting bad guy too - the dragon knight, along with his dragon horse complete with horn on his head. It has a total of 4 minifigures plus the horse so it's also great for building up your storehouse of figures. Great set, highly recommend!
