Coming from a second generation LEGOS family I must say that this Mars Mission set keeps up the tradition of good quality pieces. What I like about this set is that it has a good variety of pieces that don't just make a cool ship and walker but also make a great addition to a small collection of old and new LEGOS. What I am saying, is that this set has such good pieces that my 6-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter both have already abandoned the instruction so that they can make their own designs. The only flaw in this LEGO set is that rather than screen-printing most of the graphics, the set came with stickers. Well the stickers haven't lasted very long, and some LEGOS we have had for 15 years still have the screen-printed graphics good-as-new. If this set looks good to you or is a gift idea, you will likely be happy.

I bought this item as a promotion gift for my 7 year old going into second grade. He loved it!!! He didn't need too much help building it and he thought it was the "coolest present ever!". The Mars Mission sets are not available in stores in my area nor at Legoland at this time, so there's quite a cache to having this set. My son really liked the Lego "diamonds" that come in the box, too.

So far, of all the Mars Mission sets, this one has been the most durable. The ship is so cool how it flips back and forth from a land walker, then to an airborne ship, and it's quite heavy! I like the astronaut walker suit, the legs actually rotate around and there's a spot for each of the tools on it that the astronauts need. The best part, a small plane attaches to the back of it and when needed, another astronaut can zoom off its back and fight the aliens. The imagination and enginnering of this set is nothing short of outstanding. Extremely well done Lego! Boy, is it loved in this house! The cute little robot was a special surprise too - he lookes like Wallye! Oh, and lets not forget the evil alien commander included in this set. He's taller than the regular aliens included and his creepy eyes glow-in-the dark. You have to assemble him too. This set takes a little longer to put together, but golly, what you have when you're done is amazing. It took a 7-year-old about 2 hours to put together completely and boy, is it ever quiet in the house then! Highly, highly recommend!

For some reason, this reminds me vaguely of my all-time favorite Lego set, the Space Police Rebel Hunter. It's fun and versatile, able to form many shapes and configurations. The little white minifig robot suit is neat, but I modified it and gave it the hands from the large tank with treads. This made it more like the set shown in Lego Battles. A really cool Mars Mission set.

For Lego fans....This Lego set kept my 9 year old entertained and excited for a couple of days. The Lego mini figure that comes with this set is VERY unique and the ship is engineered nicely.

My 11 year old son received this for a present. He loves it. It's time-consuming to put together but he has managed to do it all by himself. Can't go wrong with Legos.
