1.0 out of 5 stars Utter crap. A real embarrassment, October 22, 2013
By Mereel
Platform for Display:PlayStation Vita| Edition:Standard|Verified Purchase
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
This is... wow. I have no words for how utterly disappointed I am in this game. I've never given a game review, but this has really compelled me to. The camera angles presented in this game are exactly like the GAMEBOY ADVANCED version of Lego Star Wars 2 (Which, by the way, is oodles more fun than this game). Even on the PS VITA store, the screenshots they use ARE FROM THE PS3 VERSION! Can you say "False Advertising?" I really hope they get sued for that bit.

Cons: Crap graphics. NOT a console port. I can't even jump as the Hulk. Touch commands? Really? PSN lied on the store website. I just can't fathom why they would create a system roughly equal in power to a ps3, that can showcase visuals as seen in killzone mercenaries and Uncharted... then give us THIS kind of game to go with it. I just... I don't know. This is disappointing. Spare your money, get the console/PC version. Or wait for it to come to PS4 and REMOTEPLAY it.

Pros: The refund has an "instant refund" option to get my money back faster.

I'm never preordering a vita lego game ever again. This has betrayed my trust.

1.0 out of 5 stars A Huge Disappointment October 29, 2013
Platform for Display:PlayStation Vita|Edition:Standard
I've played all the Lego games on various consoles so I know that the portable versions of the games is not just a port of the console version but is actually a different and more stripped down version of the game. It's disappointing but its understandable. I played Lego Star Wars 3 on my 3DS and Lego Batman 2 on my vita. While I would have loved them to be the same as the console version they were both pretty good representations of the lego games.

Lego marvel is NOT. It says its 45 missions but really its 15 missions split into three parts. You can't jump! there is all most no plat forming to be had. You basically go from one side of the screen to the other. There are 10 challenges for each level that are suppose to add replayablility but they are mundane and pointless. Also they force you to use the touch screen for a lot of the controls which are not very responsive. I have died lots of times in the game because the touch screen controls didn't read correctly.

As a big fan of the lego games I've never been more disappointed. Buy the console version which is a lot better but do not get the vita or 3ds version.

1.0 out of 5 stars I can't excuse the Lego games for Vita anymore. November 1, 2013
Platform for Display:PlayStation Vita|Edition:Standard
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
My son and I love the Lego games. And we love the PS3 version of Lego Marvel Super Heroes. However just like Lego Batman 2 for Vita, there is no open city exploration. In Marvel, it's New York. In Batman, it's Gotham. Both Vita titles are not even close to being remotely like the PS3 version, and both titles do not have the open world. And Marvel game is further from it's PS3 version than Lego Batman 2.
My problem with both these games is, when I look at the PS3 versions of these games, after seeing what other games can do on the Vita, there is absolutely no excuse to not have the same product/game on the Vita...NONE! These games are not so outrageously technical and graphically advanced, that you can't port them to the PS Vita.
My past reviews have always been four or five star reviews. I usually only get on here to give a different perspective of other peoples complaints, that I might not find so bad, or disagree with, and think other gamers should give a game a chance.
I can say, without a doubt, this game is horrible. Biggest disappointment for me on the Vita all year. My son played it for less than five minutes, put it down, and refuses to play it anymore. He is 9 y/o.
My hope for this review is two things...#1 To save people their hard earned money who thought this was going to be anything like the very good PS3 version. #2 Hoping to add to a flood of negative reviews to get the message through to these people, that we are not going to buy their lazy, sloppy Vita versions of games anymore. There is no excuse why the PS3 version is not on the Vita. Unacceptable.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointed October 22, 2013
Platform for Display:PlayStation Vita| Edition:Standard|Verified Purchase
Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
I was so thrilled when I saw this game announced that I preordered it right away. I am very disappointed now that I have it. I enjoyed Lego Batman 2, but this doesn't even compare. Now I wish I would have just saved the money and waited for the PS4 version or just got it for the PS3.

The levels are very short. Each mission is divided into three parts. Each part takes less than 5 minutes to complete. I don't like how the characters can't jump. Lunging seems to be used instead of jumping.

The graphics look great which is about the best I can say about this game. Oh and the cutscenes are done well and don't look as choppy as other Lego games.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not your Typical Lego Game. November 30, 2013
By Joseph
Platform for Display:PlayStation Vita| Edition:Standard|Verified Purchase
All of your Lego Marvel characters are here, but the levels are roughly 1 - 3 minute runs and there is NO open world like previous Lego games. The amount of replay value is high since there are still 10 worlds with 3 levels per world, and 10 stars to collect in each, if you are a 'completionist'. It's still a fun play for when you are short or time and want to beat a few levels here or there, but tough to get engrossed into the game since you have to start and stop each level so frequently.
