Top Customer Reviews
The series 4 no longer has barcodes denoting the entry, which is sort of lame. To catch anyone up on what this means, there were secondary barcodes on the back of the packages (without the actual numerical numbers beneath) so they could be inventoried, but people were using this to identify and get the product they wanted and not pick up other minifigs. Unfortunately, this also prevents you from ONLY buying 16 and getting all of them. Sort of lame, but that's the grab-bag business.
Being that there is no way to identify which minifig you get, this leaves you to decide on whether the price is worth it for a random figure. Going rate for lego sets is $0.10/brick, give-or-take (and with exceptions, of course) - this is average pricing, after tax. What do you get? At best: a hat, head, torso, cape (probably not-I'm being generous), backpack/neck item, torso, skirt (again, probably not), legs, at most 2 leg items and 2 hand items, then the baseplate. This brings us to $1.30 . . . which is not what anyone will pay.
Are there redeeming factors? Yes:
At a $3 MSRP, $3 + tax is EXACTLY what this product is worth, when you take into account the above . . . and the excitement and fun of just getting a minifigure, from the standpoint of a child --- so it's worth it, but just barely.
The kiddos love them and they remind me of being a kid spending countless hours playing with LEGOs.
