Fountain of Youth is the best PoTC Lego set for the value. The ships are amazing of course, but they are expensive. The Fountain and Waterfall are nice pieces. The minifigs included are good. This set actually includes 4 minifigs if you count the skeleton. Peg leg Barbosa, Edward Teach aka Captain Blackbeard, and Captain Jack Sparrow. 3 great figs to have. Also the Atlantis style greek column pieces are nice to have for MOC's. Blackbeard is a nice Lego minifig to have as it is a historical character based somewhat on truth. Blackbeard had long dreadlock like beard to intimidate foes and is one of histories most brutal swashbucklers. Pick it up now since its going to retire early 2012!

This is one of the smaller & cheaper Lego Pirates of the Caribbean sets, but it is actually one of my favorites. It's one of the easier sets to put together, but the completed pieces you end up with are pretty cool and do not take much time to put together-the completed pieces, are of course, parts of the Fountain of Youth. The clear blueish pieces that are meant to represent the water look especially nice. You get a bonus skeleton mini figure to display as part of the set as well. Pretty durable, I have mine displayed along with my other Lego Pirates sets-I would think that if this set were bought for a child that it would be fun to act out the movie scenes if you are a kid-or a kid-at-heart. But what REALLY makes this set one of the better Lego Pirates sets is that you get 3 really great mini figures-Jack, Barbossa-my personal favorite, and the evil Blackbeard. The fact that you get 3 main character mini figures & not the generic "pirate baddie" is reason enough to get this set.

This is one of the smallest of the Pirates of the Caribbean sets, and while it's a reasonably nice-looking decor set, it's not anything special, and there aren't any play features.

The minifigs included are nice; you get the standard Jack Sparrow, along with a well-detailed Barbarossa and Blackbeard. A unique golden-hilted sword is a nice touch (the other swords are the standard all-gray Lego swords). There's also a standard Lego skeleton, which you can drape artfully at the base of the Fountain. There are two small builds in this set. There's the Fountain of Youth itself, and the waterfall, which is represented by a plastic curtain printed with a water pattern that is hung from the supporting bricks. The builds are small and brief. However, this set is full of great colors, including transparent light blue pieces, vibrant blue pieces, and dark green pieces. Anyone who's trying to get more of these colors may find this set to be a good value, if they can get it on discount.

Recommended if you're collecting these sets, and you've already gotten the larger sets in the theme. However, if you're buying something for your kids, you'll probably be better off finding another set in this price range that has better playability.
