5.0 out of 5 stars YOU HAVE GOT TO GET THIS! October 1, 2011
A Kid's Review
Durability: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 1.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This is the first lego Alien Conquest set I got and I already know I'm getting another one. It is very surprizingly durable, with the exeption of the antannas. It's educational value is pretty low scince its kinda sci-fi, but it's challanging to build, like a puzzle. It has some awsome minifigures, a alien commander, an alien pet, and a reporter lady from the Brick Times newspaper and news station. The reporter lady has a double sided head, one side with a smile on her face, and the other a screaming looking face. She has unique printing on her torso that continiues on the back, and a neat microphone and clipboard with notes in her hands. The Alien Commander is really neat. Instead of legs he has tenticals and his head is made up of three seprate pieces. He has a gun and a red cape with shoulder cuffs and pilots the Alien Mothership. His pet, a little alien monster, can fit over minifigures heads, like the reporter. It also spins and makes noise with a special brick. It DOES NOT suck up the reporter like the other set,Alien Abduction, does. It is a very good set, and I advise you to buy it right now.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun set January 18, 2012

Durability: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This is an interesting set. The outer ring of the space ship is black curved pieces that look a lot like the Lego train tracks but smaller. The ship is pretty durable, my kids have dropped this on the floor several times and it has not come apart. There is a lot of repetition with this set, even if your child is not an experienced Lego builder they will be able to help assemble this because of the simplicity of the patterns. I would say this does have some educational value, my kindergartner instantly recognized the patterns and that is evidently something they discuss a lot in school.
When the spaceship spins it triggers the sound, it was neat for about the first five minutes and then it got annoying pretty fast because it is a high pitched noise.
Overall this was a good set for the money.

Durability: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
We love aliens and Lego Alien Conquest sets have been a lot of fun. We got this set on sale today and built it right away. It is super cool! The build is very very creative and interesting, a little repetitive at times. The ring is made out of very rare elements. The alien commander is excellent. There is a lot of playability for this set. It is sturdy enough to hold by the handle and fly around. There is a claw to capture the woman in business suit. The spinning feature is awesome but the sound is annoying after a while, especially when every little movement triggers it. We have figured out how to get the model to spin but not make noise, now we absolutely love this set. I wish we could have 2 of this set so we don't have to take turns and we can take one set apart to build other things. WOW!
