5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly Fun
The Lego Alien Conquest theme get's second billing most often to the bigger themes, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Pirates, but this one set is quite cool. My 8 year old had no problem putting it together and spent hours playing with it. His favorite part was to capture any of the many minifigs we have and fly off with them (the legs detach to make the walker a flying saucer). One of the best sets for the money I've seen in a while.

4.0 out of 5 stars Alien abducted my dad's boss! (a kid's review), August 18, 2011
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars

Fun build, especially if you are into Technic elements. Took less than an hour and fairly straight forward. Lots of playability. Detachable saucer with a prisoner pod. Love the alien clinger. Unfortunately the alien clinger has to be removed because the businessman is a snug fit in the pod. The tripod actually moves quite well. Too many stickers. My dad's old Lego has printed on bricks that look so much better.

The elements are very cool to make your own spaceship!

5.0 out of 5 stars hours and hours of imagination, December 6, 2011

My son got this set first as his intro to the alien conquest series and loves it best. He has built and reconfigured it numerous times and it is always featured in his imaginary play (I find it quite amusing when the aliens attack the castle series characters myself. Have you ever seen a knight fend off a clinger? A catapult vs. a spaceship? You have not truly given free reign to your inner Master Builder until you see Predator vs. Sir Gawain).

Got this for my 10 year old daughter, she loves it. The Alien set is her favorite collection. It would have been nice to be able to keep the alien on the the mans head while he was in the ship, but the man is to tall with the alien.

I didn't purchase this toy from amazon, I got it off eBay brand new still sealed in box for $13.50. Would have been cheaper if someone else didn't bid but that's still a great price. I bought it for my sons 4th birthday in August so can't really say too much about the toy except that it looks nice in pictures. I know my son will love it because he likes to watch Alien Tripod from War Of The Worlds on the iPad. Also got him some of his favorite Godzilla monsters , can't believe he's not even 4 yet and into all this stuff already haha.

5.0 out of 5 stars A really fun set!!!!, January 23, 2012
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: LEGO Space Tripod Invader 7051 (Toy)
This is a really fun set to play with!!! Nice unique theme! Box said ages 7-14 but lots of fun even for a younger kid. Toy looks complicated, but other than the step where the 3 legs get attached to each other, DC could assemble by self (with supervision) in about 1.5 hrs. The spaceship isn't that large on its own, but when it is attached to the tripod legs, it makes it seem like a much larger, more substantial toy. This one is definitely a winner- highly recommend- great toy, and really well priced (we are big Lego fans, but not all sets are a good price/value).
