Fun Build but Easy to Break,

My dad got this for my six year old son as a present, but I was the one who ended up building it (and rebuilding it) with him.
I don't specifically remember the bombers from Star Wars but it was a "cool spaceship" so take it as that. Overview I would consider this kit to be a small kit (100-300 pieces), it wasn't too expensive. By the time I got involved my son had built about half of it. Directions The directions were what I consider average. They show each step with what is build on the previous ones. I prefer the directions that show you the pieces to be used in the step. Assembly Assembly was not exactly linear or straight forward. You have to assemble the bomb dropping mechanism which was a bit complex (spacing and offset). The asymmetrical design added to the challenge but in the end it came out ok and if you don't build it right its obvious in the later stages. Features This kit has several key play features, first and foremost is the ability to drop "bombs". There are two racks each holds two bombs. They are activated by pulling back on a lever against rubber band tension. Sometimes the bombs can be a bit "sticky". Moving "heads" that flip up and down are another feature. They are held on by spindly robot minifigure arms identical to the battledroid parts (kind of neat). Finally the wings/legs rotate down and move back and forth a bit as if for walking. Minifigures The kit comes with 3 droid soldier minifigures with jetpacks. Playability I'll give this kit an average rating as far as playability. The main flaw is that the key features are not very durable. The wings/legs were constantly breaking off (too spindly). The raising heads were also easy to snap off as well. Then you had to figure out which head went where (there are three). I rebuilt the legs with fewer, shorter parts (less flexibility) which helped but the set didn't hold my sons interest like others have. In the end it suffered the eventual fate of all lego sets, it got broken up for parts and mixed into the general pool. In that function it does offer some unique parts, mainly the curved front (each is ¼ circle) and the long compound curved wing/leg pieces. So in Review Pro's Some very interesting pieces Reasonably priced Fun to build Cons Final product is a little bit fragile. Not as interesting as some other ships. Conclusion Not a great set but not a poor one either, reasonably priced, a good build and some good parts. A nice one for the collection.

I bought this for my 5-year-old who is a lego fanatic. It was challenging for him the first time he put it together with some frustrating moments - likely because he's 5, but he still did it by himself within the day. He flies this ship and others all day long, bombs it, crashes it and now has no problem rebuilding it over-and-over again quickly. Its been weeks and he still plays with this daily along with other lego star wars ships and sets.

I bought this toy at, Toysrus. The little droids were fun to play with. I am an okay lego builder. So it took me around an hour to build this thing. I had fun with the revolving legs when the legs are in flight form and when they are ready to land. But be careful this toy is very fragile so be careful when you play with it, or just not play with it. You should find a very good place for this thing. Never leave this toy out especially when there are younger children around. My little brother found it and brought it out to play with. He didn't break it but he made a mistake bad enough. Leaving it in a place a one younger siblings can get it!!! Don't buy this toy if you are not prepared to find a good place for it, if you are prepared it would be a nice toy to buy.

We love to build lego, and we love to play with our creations, but this set is not suitable for playing with!
The wings fall apart instantly, and other parts of the body don't hold much better. In all our years of buying and playing with lego sets, this is the first time we encountered such a low quality toy. If you're buying this for a young child to play with - don't waste your time and money.

My eight year old was very excited with his first large lego star wars piece ,
but this didn't last very long. "The wings keep falling off and are hard to put them on the right way, dad " sure enough when I went to put back a wing section , the other side fell off-just touch the wing connectors and they drop off. Can't believe this was play tested with the type of person it would appeal to most, a 7-10 year old boy star wars fan,far too flimsy !

My 10 year old bought this after seeing the movie and was terribly disappointed. Building it wasn't easy because it didn't stay together, but the real shame was that it was far too fragile to play with once built. This is the last Lego we buy without checking the reviews first. Some of their sets are brilliant. Others are dreadful. I do wish they were more consistent.

I purchased this set basically because it was cheap (I bought it on sale for $[...]) and because I liked the figures. This comes with three new rocket battle droid figures which have dark gray arms and legs, and dark orange heads and torsos. That rocket battle droids are equipped with short blasters and jetpacks. The Hyena Droid Bomber itself is a very interesting build and when finished it looks very big and intimidating. The Bomber is equipped with a four bomb payload which can be dropped in twos by pulling back two levers on the back of the ship. The Hyena can be placed in standing position by folding the wings out and down and in attack position by folding the wings out and up. The Hyena can also be placed in normal flying position by folding the wings in and up. The Hyena's head can also swivel up and down, and there is a targeting sight (sticker) on the bottom of the ship. Well, here are the basics of the set:
The good things Three rocket battle droids Short blasters Jetpacks Hyena Droid Bomber Four bombs Bomb release Standing position Flying position Attack position Swiveling head The bad things Stickers Over all, I very highly recommend this set.

My and my son enjoy this toy. He is eight and IMHO wouldn't have been able to handle it when he was seven.
It "transforms" and has moving parts and little bombs that can drop, cool! One complaint is that I don't know why they include so many little war-driod figures, they really aren't part of the fun.

This particular set is virtually impossible to play with for more than 30 seconds, since the wings are fixed to the main body by very weak connections. Unless you like replacing them over and over and over, I suggest another set.
