As always, Amazon delivered the product in 2 days with Prime membership.
The LEGO 8088 Arc-170 is a remodeled and updated version of the original starfighter from set 7259 (now discontinued). This current model has a much longer wingspan and is overall bigger, with smaller pieces resulting in a more intricate design and tighter fit. The color palette is also very nice, however, the set does come with stickers, which I have chosen not to apply. Bear in mind that the three cockpit windows are technically blank, and the white window separation is achieved through stickers.
In the core of the Arc-170 is an exceptionally clever LEGO brick engine, composed of 2 interior gears; turning it lowers/raises the wings, reminiscent of the X-Wing. I personally feel the price tag for this set is a bit on the high side in terms of bricks:price ratio, but the well engineered engine mechanic is no doubt the cause of this.
When purchasing this set, one is essentially paying a premium for the additional labor cost used for design. Of the more recent Star Wars sets, this is the only one to incorporate Technic pieces on this scale.

Comes with 4 minifigs [2 clone pilots, the Jedi (whose head is made of rubber), and 1 astrodroid].
Conclusion: There are much better LEGO Star Wars models out there if you're looking for a good bricks:minifigs:price ratio. However, if you're interested in a more technical set that "moves" with not just wheels and kinetic energy, this is for you.

This awesome new set is great. With the push of a button the missile bombs fire out,and with the turn of a switch the wings lock into attack position,opening cock pits and more. Get this set it is awesom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is cool how the wings can separate and that it can also shoot missiles. My seven year old son and I put it together without too much difficulty and he has enjoyed it.

We bought this for my 7-year old son, who loves both Legos and Star Wars. It's pretty darn cool, but I'd recommend, if you're giving it to someone younger than the box recommends, to have an adult handy. My son started this on his own and did pretty well. I noticed, however, that he'd made a couple of mistakes along the way. When he wasn't looking, I fixed them and realized he'd skipped a couple small steps. Skipping steps in such a complicated set means the whole thing will be off. Once I fixed it, we finished the rest together. It was Legotastic. We're leaving this one assembled for a while, up on a shelf. Not super durable, but oh, so cool. He also received for x-mas the Slave I (Boba Fett's ship), which is even cooler.

An excellent toy. My sons 5 and 10 really enjoy their legos. This Starfighter was purchased with their own money that they had saved for quiet awhile. They were not disappointed!

first I would like to say that this set is great it has a good amount of features. The figures are great but I don't know why Kit Fisto comes with it but its nice to see kit fisto in a new set. What I like most about it is that the copits open up real well. really the only thing was when you fire the flick fire missles the it the bottom of the front part of the ship. But otherwise this is a great set for any lego star wars collecter.


Overall: I would get this set before the price increases and im very happy with it!

This is a very great toy if you're an expert at building legos. It was kind of tough to build. It is really great to build and play with. My kids really thought it was a lot of fun. If your kids like Star Wars, they will surely enjoy this set. The bottom line is, it is a really great lego set.

Out of all the ships I've owned this one is my favorite. It was a really fun build and the finished product looks AMAZING. This is a must buy for lego fans and star wars fans.

and Star Wars, the best of both worlds. Gift for my 9 YO son. Was a little complicated putting together but he did most of it himself. He plays with it all the time and it hardly ever comes apart, and if it does, well, it's LEGOS, just put it back together.

Gave this to my grandchild for Christmas. He was very excited and could not put it down until he had it put togather. It was a pretty lego set and took him about and hour to put it togather. He loved it.
