5.0 out of 5 stars An AT-AT with Wheels
There's one number that stands out after you dump the contents of the Clone Turbo Tank out on the table: 801. Eight-hundred and one, as in, how many pieces just spilled out of the box. For those not familiar with LEGOs, well, it's probably the most LEGOs you've seen at once that have yet to become something. It's daunting and a bit mind-boggling.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun but other
I bought this toy for my son rite? Well i thought "Hey this looks fun and my son should love it!" After the hours it took to build...It was fun until 5 minutes later it fell into 100 pecies...and we rebuilt it...again! But it is fun! Him and my daughter have fun re-building it or just using the pecies to build other cool starwars ships and such! Overall it is a...

That being said, once all the pieces come together (and they will, somewhere around two hours later), you'll doubtlessly be pleased: you've got yourself an AT-AT with wheels, ready to roll over Seperatists with the vanguard of the Clone Army.

The Clone Turbo Tank is oddly named; as I said before, it's an AT-AT with wheels. Perhaps somebody got tired of the pantheon of walker acronyms in the Star Wars universe (AT-ST, AT-TE, AT-AT, AAT), and said "okay, okay, enough with the acronyms!" I suppose you could call it the CTT - but don't, it's not a walker. It's a tank - a turbo tank.

The set itself is nothing short of amazing. The main set piece, the tank, is huge and trundles along with ten big wheels on four axles. The suspension is really neat, allowing the tank's body to roll on either side to nearly a 45 degree angle. I guess that's necessary for all the high-speed 'turbo' turns the tank will be making on the battlefield. The body is sturdy and covered with access plates; you can access the cockpit, the engine, the troop bay, and the rear utility area easily. The troop bay is massive - I haven't tried, but you could probably stuff ten troops in there. The cockpit has two seats, for whoever you make driver and General Veers.*

As for armament, the turbo tank has plenty. Apparently designed for wading into the midst of enemy formations, it has dual-mounted heavy blasters in the front and rear. For dealing with pesky starfighters, there's a cockpit-mounted turret and another mounted on the spine.

A unique aspect of the turbo tank is its "crow's nest", an adjustable lookout post located towards the rear. I don't know what kind of Clone Trooper would want to be up there - anyone in the lookout post is a choice target. The set comes with binoculars, so whichever clone trooper has been bad, give him the binoculars and tell him, "lookout post." He'll think twice before misbehaving in the future.

The set also comes with two other pieces of equipment - a speeder and a turret. The speeder is a nice add-on, and gives LEGO the excuse to package the BARC Trooper (a light green version of the famous Scout Trooper) with the set. The turret is reminiscent of the turrets in Empire Strikes Back, the ones that did such a very poor job of stopping the AT-ATs. Since the set's picture depicts a Battle Droid operating the turret, it's safe to say it will also do a poor job of stopping the Clone Turbo Tank.

Finally, the set includes a good variety of mini-figures. We get light-up lightsaber Mace Windu, yellow-pauldroned Clone Trooper (according to Star Wars lore, he's an officer), regular Clone Trooper, Jet Clone Trooper (this guy looks like he has the most fun of any Clone Trooper, ever), the aforementioned BARC Trooper, and the ever-inept duo of Battle Droids. My only real complaint with this set is there is no driver - obviously, anyone can sit in the cockpit, but having an AT-AT driver-style driver would have been nice.

So, if you find an AT-AT with wheels an attractive concept, swallow the $90 USD price tag and get rolling, Trooper!

* Set does not include General Veers.

5.0 out of 5 stars This toy ROCKS!!!!!!!!, June 3, 2005

The Clone Turbo Tank is an awesome toy! It comes with two battle droids, a Master Windu minifigure with a light-up lightsaber, four clones (one scout, two regular and one with an orange stripe).

The scout trooper gets a speeder bike that you build! The droids get a blaster, tri-pod gun, and a turret.

The tank itself is EXTREAMLY durable! It will only break if you crash it or drop somthing heavy on it.

The tank has an ajustable turret. The only problem is that the clone keeps falling out if you go too fast.

Overall I'd give this toy a 1,000,000,000 if the scale was that high.

This is a great toy, it will give you tons of fun!

As you may know already legos are very well made and high quality. I started in my lego collection with the rebel snow speeder. Then I saw this one. Then I price......my jaw dropped. $90 dollars for a tank. after some research though I this toy looked very fun and very, very very durable for a lego. I also like the little minifigures. The Mace Windu guy haas the "glow" lightsaber. It was funny pushing his head but the lightsaber is unitachible. It comes with many clones and things to do. But the only problem seems to be (as seen in other reviews) the scope thing doesn't seem to be that good. People say that it repeatidly falls over although I've never had that problem. Over all the turbo tank is very fun to play with and it is a great collection. But please remember if your reading this and your under 8 you my have some trouble doing it by yourself.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun toy!, April 30, 2006

I'm 13 and I just want to say that this is a really fun toy! Also, I have been building legos all my life and this took me hours to build! My main gripe is (it's a silly gripe) it comes with so much stuff it is kind of hard to play with if you use everything at once-- don't let that stop you from buying it though it's really fun!

I just want to clear something up in the features it comes with:
1 clone, 1 aerial trooper (turns into a clone with removal of pack),1 mace windu with light-up saber, and one clone commander shown by the shoulder pad(Most likley Bly according to the armor color) 1 kashyyk trooper/ Barc trooper, 1 speeder bike, one cannon, and two battle droids. It DOES NOT INCLUDE Luke Skywalker and Dak Ralter, they are not even in the movie this comes from (Unless you count baby luke, but he still does not come with this set.)

Thanks!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome lego set, June 4, 2005
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: LEGO Star Wars Clone Turbo Tank (Toy)
I had alot of fun playing and building with this Lego set. The feature that allows the wheels to shift position and go up and down is amazing! This vehicle can travel over almost any terrain! It includes many different Lego miniature figures which allows for even more fun playing with it. I especially enjoyed playing with Commander Cody. One of the drawbacks to it is the periscope on the tank keeps falling down when I raise it. Another flaw is the jetpack on the aerial trooper keeps falling off and the top turret falls off every time I mess with it. Mace Windu's battery is irreplacable but otherwise this is a very cool Lego set. I advise anyone who likes building stuff to buy this Lego set.

5.0 out of 5 stars a very great toy, August 6, 2005

I have to say this is probably the best lego I have in my collection ,and also the most fun too. I think that it worth $90 bucks, for all it has.
It has 2 battle droids, aerial trooper, scout trooper, a special trooper, a trooper and Mace Windu. Also a speeder, turret and of course, the clone turbo tank. The clone turbo tank has many ways to open up,first the main doors on the body opens, and the back opens up in all four flaps. Also in the top a mini flap opens and in it is a spot for a mini-figure to sit. In the head 2 mini figures can sit and the top flap opens. In the neck two flaps open on the sides and a raising periscope. The middle wheels can be raised when rolling over something, the other eight wheels turn. Finally the turret will fit in the tank's body and it locks. Mace Windu's lightsaber lights up and is very bright. If you are thinking that you might buy this item, I highly recomend it. As I said it is worth $90 bucks. I hope this review helped you.

This set is simply amazing. The Clone Turbo Tank is Legos work of art.Im dazzled as to how this set is constructed so well.Ok enough of that, its great yada yada bla bla life goes on.Lets begin. This set takes a good 2 to 2 1/2 hours to complete. When your finished, its ready to be played with, as apposed to the AT-TE or AT-AT.The Turbo Tank comes with a good amount of acessories. You get a barc speeder, gun turret, tripod gun, and the little guns and jetpack for your troopers. It includes a good amount of mini figs: light up lightsaber mace windu, 2 standard battle droids, Kashyyyk trooper, jetpack trooper, elite trooper, and a look out trooper who would probly be a choice target, 6 more inches into the air in the "please shoot me, im wearing white" uniform(no pun intended)I gave this set a 5 for education because the box includes inspirations and the lego can be taken apart to build other models.I really enjoy playing with this toy.It can take a hit and keep comin'.If your a fan of lego star wars make this a necessary purchase!

This thing is FREAKIN AWSOME !!!!!!!!!!!!! i got this set when it came out and it's amazing. The extra touches like the scout trooper with his speeder and commander cody are nice.Thou there are a few bad things about it like the mounted turret on the top falls off constantly and Mace Windu its nice that he comes with a light up lightsaber but that makkes him unplayable with because his head is way too loose, his hand with the lightsaber in it can't spin (...). Still even with thoes 3 problems it is still a must have for any lego star wars collecter or any lego collecter!
