Product Description

Editorial Review

This set is certainly not in any danger of being confused with the output of George Lucas's Industrial Light and Magic special-effects shop, but, with its customized plastic pieces that combine in classic LEGO snap-together fashion, the LEGO System Star Wars Droid Fighter does qualify as a worthwhile and versatile entry into the Star Wars galaxy. The full-color, 18-step booklet provides instructions for the basic Droid Fighter; a couple of other configurations suggest themselves in the finished image, though, leaving the how-to in your hands, Solo. --Tony Mason

Product Description

Build your own droid fighter... And take to the skies above the Planet Naboo! To defend their battleship, Trade Federation droid fighters engage Naboo fighters in blazing dogfights. The wings on the droid fighter quickly change from cruising position to attack mode. Then with the wings open, and a turn of its head, the droid fighter transforms into a walking droid.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just like in the Movie!, December 15, 1999

I have all the "Star Wars" Lego sets. I have them set in little scenes and this particular one, I have three. It looks just like the one in the movie. It goes from starfighter to walking droid with about 5 REALLY easy changes. (about 8 seconds) And it goes from non-shooting starfighter to shooting starfighter in 4 rally easy changes. (about 4 seconds)Compared to the other "Star Wars" Lego stes, this one resembles the movie the best. Buy a couple and have a flight of droid fighters!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good for a small Lego, April 6, 2000

This doesn't have any figures with it so if figures are what "floats your boat" don't get it. But, for those willing to imagine and create more than what Lego tells you you can do, it's a lot of fun. The wings can be positioned a lot of different ways. Also, since it's compact it's quite a tough little ship. If you don't have or don't wanna spend too much, this is a very good buy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Plain, no picture doesn't help, December 27, 1999

I bought this toy, and it had a "no picture new Item" showing for the picture. I figured with Episode I, I couldn't go wrong. I was mistaken. It contains no figures, it is pretty plain, and does not have any extra features other than the wings move. I would not recommend this for any lego enthusiasts, maybe for beginners it might not be so bad.
