This is a great Lego set for kids and collectors alike. The model is very close to the movie model and contains an odd-looking "buzz droid."
PLAY: Very sturdy for "swooshing" and attacking Jedi and Republic ships alike. The fighter is easily flown through the air with one hand. Construction uses Lego clicking joints, allowing for a uniform, symmetrical shape on all three axes. There are some stickers for this set, but they do add a great deal of detail to the model. LEARNING: All Lego sets have an advantage over normal toys in that they can be taken apart and built into whatever an imagination can create. Great for building creative skills. DURABILITY: Very durable - click-joint construction and lightweight frame allow this to be dropped from a considerable height onto carpet without breaking. Great toy! Very fun to play with an it always attracts people who wonder just what it is.

Watching this set take shape is probably the best part of the assembling process, with the outcome being a great-looking fighter craft. Pieces that you have to "click" into place can (sometimes) make an assembly tedious; and it's (sometimes) hard to tell what the right number of clicks is (i.e. Clone Scout Walker). But everything works perfectly here. The reason I say watching it come together is best is because with the Tri-Fighter comes tri-assembly, meaning you are doing the same thing per step, basically, three times (x3). Some people may not be bothered by this, while others may look for more variety from step to step. Nevertheless, it's not a big problem.
A Buzz-saw Droid is the Tri-Fighter's lone minifig, if you even want to call it a minifig. The only part of his body that represents a true-to-form minifig is the legs; the rest of him is just normal Lego pieces. I have a small problem with this (you may not) because minifigs, to me, are a big part of what makes or breaks a Lego set. But whatever the case may be, the Buzz-saw Droid is a rather unique figure, and he's essentially hidden in the ship's center anyway (getting him to stand up right is a bit monotonous too). Putting this 148-piece set together took a little over a half-hour. I found that with the outstretched beams, this set took up a lot of space; I started on the corner of my table and wound up having to clear most of the space off to make room. As I said, clicking the beams into place was very easy, while the end-pieces that join the three are as efficient as you'd expect from Lego. Also, this set does have a fair number of small stickers you must apply, whether or not that persuades or dissuades you.... So besides the lack of a true minifig and having to do a number of steps times three, the Tri-Fighter is a great Lego set. I highly recommend this, as one of the cheaper Episode III sets and as one of the more attractive ones. The two shades of blue and elevated durability--it has been noted you can drop this from high levels and not have to fix a thing; that is, within reason, true--make the Tri-Fighter a definite steal in the Star Wars Lego line. Give this set a "tri", and you shouldn't be disappointed.

This Lego set is one of the best! Unlike the Jedi Starfighter and the Vulture Droid, this set is very durable. If I drop it on concrete, no pieces fall apart! It is also cool with the little buzz droid that comes out of it. How is a Lego educational? Whatever the educational value might be, this is a great Lego!

The first thing that grabed me for this set was the fact that it had twent-nine parts associated with click-hinges and 15 pieces with studs on three sides out of four, and also some red size-2 plus rods (you normallty only get those in black). So this is a great set to pick up even if you don't want to build it, it certainly has enough parts to make a child happy. (And I am a child, so I'm very happy indeed!)
The Buzz Droid could have had a bit more work. LEGO have really left out on the little guy because he features more in the movie thn the Tri-Fighter! First, he's meant to have three eyes, LEGO, not two. He rolls in a ball, he's not supposed to be stuck in the 'I'm ready to get you' pose all the time. But on the other hand, you get two flourescent orange transparant studs and som grey R2D2 heads with yellow detail, so there's more for your parts drawer. Also, the buzzsaw can fit in any minifig's hand so there's another tool. Building this set is great fun. There' so many 'clicks' and you get good use of the parts. LEGO have included 10 fiddly stickers in this so more precise sticking, I'm afraid. Once you've got it together, you can do not a lot with it, but you use your imagination with LEGO, right? I'll leave you to it, then. Here's a quick compiled list... Recommended? Yes. Price to parts ratio? About 1:20, this set has about 190 parts and it's £10 so for £1 you get 20 of what is some of the best choice of parts I've ver seen. Clicky factor? 10/10. You can make it have a decapitated ring, then it's fixed in five seconds. Very good. Detail? Engines, grilles, guns, turrets, buzz-saw teeth marks, exhaust. Have I said enough? Storage space? A watertight container with space for more than 30 stud pieces. In fact, more than 60 or even more than 90, I'm not sure. I hope you enjoy the Tri-Fighter.

Who has ever gone wrong with LEGO? Even if there happened to be a piece missing (which has happened to me) or broken (has never happened to me), a quick phone call to LEGO, and they mail pieces right away - never a problem or hassle.

The droid tri-fighter is the best lego set I have ever had! The wanted buzz droid makes it more valuable than the new droid tri-fighter. It has much more durability than the new one, which when you open it, the opening piece falls out, and when you try to get it back on, the other opening piece falls out! This one is much better than the new one, and has 148 pieces, smaller than the other one, but better. Off all the lego sets I own, I'd say this is the least likely for me to give away!

The product was delivered quickly and in good shape. The Lego product was a little too easy to assemble as my child thought for the price there should have been more to it but all in all it was a very good purchase.

The Droid Tri-Fighter (LEGO 7252) is much more impressive in person than on the box cover or catalogue photos. It is a fun set to build, and is a great addition to a Star Wars collection. The Buzz Droid actually fits inside the clear orb in the center of the ship.
