Well-designed but not very sturdy,

This is one of the better designed Star Wars Lego ships. The antennae on the back, however, fall off very easily.I liked having a couple of Battle Droids included with this set. I don't think there's such a thing as having too many of those guys. The little go-cart was disappointing. I'm not sure why it was included. Having a main character was also a drawback. I think Lego should have put a generic pilot and a generic droid so collectors can build a squadron without having extra figures. Either that or offer a generic pilot and ship though its direct mail catalog.

Ther overall shape and colors are nice on this model (except for that "cannon"? underneath, and I'm still not sure what that side cart is). It comes with an Anakin pilot, R2, and two battle droids, which are all nice. The cockpit is not hinged or slides, and must be popped off to open. The major problem with this model is that the rear antenae (all 3) easily fall/snap off constantly! Unless you glue the things on, this toy is very hard to play with.

While the main body of this Naboo fighter is strong. It attena and such, tend to fall off to easily, making it difficult to play with and only good for display puposes. Plus, you get Anakin again, and he's avaliable in so many sets, it gets repetative. Lego needs to produce more generic pilots. However its nice to have a few battle droids to play with, though like most I have yet to figure out what that thing on wheels is. While I think this vehicle is fine for colection purposes, I think fighters like the A-wing are far more durable when it comes to everyday play.

This is a pretty good set, a nice renderition of the N-1 Naboo starfighter. A little short, though. I, as many other people, have no clue as to what that car-like thing is. Maybe it's a maitenance vehicle. Anyway, it's got a couple of battle droids. I now have six. And it comes with ANOTHER anakin. I have one from an error in the landspeeder set, the anakin's podracer set, and, well, this one. It's a pretty good set overall. 8^)

Overall, I was very satisfied with the purchase of this set. The ship's design is attractive and graceful, capturing the sleek lines of the Naboo ship from The Phantom Menace. However, several issues present themselves. First, the hatch does not easily open. For some reason, it simply snaps into place. Lego could easily have mounted the hatch on a swivel piece without altering the ship's design. Second, the support vehicle is absolutely useless - a complete waste of pieces. What purpose could that clumsy trapezoid on wheels serve? Finally, I dislike the blasters that the droids come equipped with. This is an issue that relates to several other Star Wars Lego sets, because Lego has not created a properly sized blaster (although there are proportional weapons for many other genres, such as the Adventurers and Ninjas). These "blasters" are easily half as large as the droids! However, despite of these small criticisms, the set is still well worth the money, and will be enjoyable for any Lego collector, be they child or adult.

He sits in his sleek, banana yellow space rocket. His goggles and helmet remind me of myself when I was a lad. And his sidekick droid, R2D2, reminds me of an old friend. I ask myself, "Has there ever been a toy so wonderful? So awe inspiring? So worthy of praise?" The Star Wars Lego Naboo Fighter is something everyone has to experience for himself. Don't be fooled by the petty picture on the box. For once that boxes contents are opened, a world of Star Wars MAGIC leaps from within. My son likes it too. My wife abhors it for I have devoted much more of my time to Annakin and his flying torpedo than her. Sad, but true. And it can happen to you. Experience and live the Star Wars Drama...Lego Style. Thank you Lego! (And a shout out to George Lucas! :) )

This is an excellent fighter to add to your Star Wars Lego Collection. However, the Lego set disappoints me a little. The engines attached to the wings aren't very secure and I could see them come off in play quite easily. The TR FED droids are also cheap and don't seem to stand up that well. Lego don't seem to have put much thought into them as they did with the Pit Droids in the Pod Race set. There is a little vehicle which is useless as well. Lego should have put the money used to make this vehicle into making the shield over Anakin's cockpit SLIDE open/close. There are also NO moving parts to be excited about.

This single set stood out above the rest; it was the set I never took apart, not even if I needed some extra yellow pieces, or even if it fell apart by itself, which I don't blame it for. We all have to fall apart and rebuild at times in our lives. I would always put it back together with care. Whenever I felt bad about myself and didn't know what to do, I always had Anakin's Naboo Fighter to play with so I knew there was something right in the world. This LEGO set made my life worth living--it intrigued me, comforted me, entertained me, and most of all, it sparked my imagination, igniting a blaze that will never be stomped out.
Beautiful is all I can think to describe the set right now, with its carefully attached antennae, humble edges, and totally awesome green lights on the front. Looking at the set and remembering every piece that went into its construction makes me want to shed a tear that I ever let them all go. All good things must come to an end; only the good die young; live and let die! I think I need a moment. And to the maintenance cart haters: Use your imagination. In another universe it could be a crazy awkward personal transport vehicle or put a head on the back and it's everybody's favorite kid with an iron lung! |
