For a Lego Star Wars set, this didn't have very many pieces, but it was simple. Due to the nature of the model, it was a little repetitive, but again pretty easy to make. I made a small alteration in mine to prevent the cockpit from rotating, as I found it an unnecessary feature of the model. All in all, a very good model of my favorite starfighter. Now if only Lego would come out with the Chiss clawcraft, I'd be set.

Good, But Not Great T.I.E. Defender,

When I saw that the T.I.E. Defender was going to be made into a LEGO, I was ecstatic. I loved flying as this vehicle in the original TIE Fighter game years back. I got this as a gift, and I started to build it soon after. It took me around 30 minutes to build. The only thing that was a little tedious was the wings, but that was to be expected. My only real complaint was that the model was designed with a rotating cockpit, which isn't something in the design of the "real" vehicle. Outside of that one design flaw, I say bravo to Lego on making this vehicle that never made a movie appearance!

Great Model, Despite Inaccuracies.,

Overall this was a very fun Lego model to build, slightly repetitive but you still enjoyed seeing it come together. Overall I'd say it's far more durable than you'd expect for something like this. Though sometimes the cockpit canopy snaps off, but that seems extremely common with these kinds of models anyway. It is perfectly capable of supporting itself standing on the bottom two wings. So you can easily set it on a shelf without having to build some sort of stand with other Legos. Just don't press down on it though as that might strain it too far and cause it to fall apart.
The model itself is okay, but it's highly inaccurate compared to the actual Star Wars vehicle it represents. It has a few accuracy flaws: *The cockpit module rotates, which is not what the TIE Defender does. *The lasers are on the cockpit in the model, where on the actual TIE Defender that was where the missile ports were located. *There are missiles on the tips of all the wings, on the actual TIE Defender the bottom two wings had laser cannons and the top wing had a pair of ion cannons. I'd still say it's a good model anyway, if you could just have it as a display and pretend the missiles are cannons. I liked it anyway. Looks great on a shelf with other Star Wars Lego models.
