5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Tusken Raider minifigs!, August 31, 2002
A Kid's Review
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: LEGO Star Wars: Tusken Raider Encounter (7113) (Baby Product)
Tusken Raider Encounter is an awesome Lego set. I, as a really big Star Wars fan and having collected some other Ep.2 lego sets, had to get this set. You have an Anakin minifig that is neat, with a cape and his blue lighsaber. The Lego version of the swoop bike is terrific and closely resembles the original, plus a really cool colour scheme. The 2 Tusken Raider mini-figs may well be the best part of the set, with their detailed faces. Each also comes with a blaster/"rifle". As a bonus, you also get a Tatooine moisture collector tower which, when you pull a hinged piece, opens up to reveal a nice little compartment with a couple of coloured computer controls and circuits.

This set is really good for collectors with any other Ep.2 sets or even Ep.4, A New Hope sets, such as the Landspeeder(even though I don't have it.)The Episode II sets beat the Ep. 1 sets but neither can beat the original trilogy ones.

Altogether this is a nice addition to your Star Wars Lego collection, or just plain Lego collection. Buy this set while you can. May the Force be with you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally a Swoop and Tuskens!, April 23, 2002

Finally Anakin is grown up and supposedly has orange hair.
The Swoop speeder (which made its debut in the Ep.IV Special Edition along with the Shadow of the Empire books) is really nicely designed and includes some really nice detail. The only bad thing about it is the front fins easily fall off. The angles and shaping of the vehicle is really well done.
The 2 Tusken Raider mini-figs look great! They each also come with a rifle (odd since I once read that Lego wouldnt include real guns with this series) that can also be found in the old Lego Western sets.
There is also this semi-tall Tatooine water-vapor tower thing included which has a neat "secret" compartment with computer controls hidden.
Finally, the Star Wars universe is starting to piece together (forgive the lego pun) and these elements will go very nice with your Ep2 or even your classic Star Wars lego sets.

4.0 out of 5 stars Where's the Shmi minifig?, April 23, 2002

Don't get me wrong, I really like this set. However, I took one star off for the lack of a Shmi Skywalker minifig. How can one act out this scene without her? At any rate, with this set you get two menacing Tusken Raiders, Annikan Skywalker (with cloak and lightsaber), a speeder, and a tower that opens up on hinged lego pieces to reveal some circuits and coloured knobs. The raiders also each have their own blasters that look a lot like rifles. That is an interesting fact because lego usually doesn't make items that look like real world weapons. Annikan has a rather generic face and brown hair piece so this set can also work with any Episode 4 sets you may have. If you were acting out Star Wars: A New Hope, the missile tower can be adapted as a part of Owen & Beru's moisture farm. That being said, the possibilities are endless with lego. The price on this set is high considering it only has 90 pieces, but set # 7113 is a great addition to any collection. . .may the force be with you!

5.0 out of 5 stars People Are Scary, August 19, 2002

SPOILER ALERT - if you haven't seen Ep II, you will see a spoiler below.
The set is easily constructed; it consists of Anakin w/ lightsaber & Owen Lars' speederbike, two Tusken Raiders with rifles, and a moisture vaporator. The vaporator is the most interesting and detailed version Lego has made of such devices so far in its line of sets.
Now, I adore this set, and I've been collecting the Star Wars Legos since they were introduced, but there's something terribly disturbing about giving little kids some Legos which are aimed at retelling Anakin's first seriously fall to the Dark Side: when he massacred a small tribe of the Sand People in revenge for his mother's death at their hands. It, ah, strikes me as an odd choice of scene to reenact.

5.0 out of 5 stars VERY COOL SET!, June 16, 2002

This is a pretty cool lego set. My favorite part is the awesome tuskin raiders that are unique to this set alone. Their moisture vaporater is also a great little thingamajig because it'll tilt over to reveal a hidden computer if you pull a certain lever. Now on to the bike and Annie. I give this pair 4 stars becaus Anikin isn't much of a real thrill with his blank features. The swoop bike is almost a superb set, but the front winglike contraptions aren't that durable and will fall off if they touch the ground at high speeds.(As a speeder bike should)
Overall "Tuskin Raider Encounter" is a great set and is currently my favorite SMALL ep2 set. An ALMOST must have!

I have to admit, I've never been a big fan of the swoop bike design. But, I really like the Lego version of the swoop! It is put together very nicely and comes with Anakin and his lightsaber. The two tusken raiders are way cool! They both come with their own tusken rifles. This is a smaller set worth buying and only takes a few minutes to put together. A nice addition to any Star Wars collection.

I love all star wars legos, and give them all high marks, but what is the story with naming this set "Tusken Raider Encounter?" Who are they kidding? It should be the "Tusken Raider Massacre"

It is ultra fun! Plus it is the only set with Tusken Raiders! If you pull a lever on the side of the moisture collector it will tilt open to reveal a controll pannel! Plus it has a speeder bike! Very fun! Exept it does not stay together that well!
