This review is from: LEGO Star Wars Wookiee Catamaran (Toy)
With all the recent re-releases in the Star Wars LEGO line, I had been anxiously awaiting the new Episode III sets. And looking through pictures of the sets before they were released, I was particularly attracted to the Wookiee Catamaran. I was not, however, as attracted to the price of the Wookiee Catamaran. After all, this set has 20 fewer pieces than the (equally as striking) ARC-170 Starfighter; and yet it costs $10 more. It really doesn't seem to make sense... until you have the Catamaran assembled and sitting gorgeously on your dresser for the world (or your friends) to see. Just by looking at the set on display, it appears there's more than 376 pieces. And of all the new Episode III sets I have put together, this one has to be the best-looking. It's dashing and simplistic at the same time.
Putting the set together was very easy, which can be either good or bad depending on the person. Because the two sides of the catamaran are basically identical, when you build the second "wing" you almost get in a groove and don't really even need the directions, much like with the legs of the AT-AT. The durability of the set would look as if it were a bit flimsy; and during the building process it is. But once you have it together, if you grab it by the center you shouldn't have any problems moving it from one spot to another. Also, putting the strings on the two holding areas that drop the blue neon balls was almost as tedious as threading a needle. But that's neither here nor there and inconsequential after you've finished. As for the minifigs, you get 2 new Clone Troopers (who get their own neat little vehicle here), a new Wookiee Warrior, the too-often-used Yoda and Chewbacca, and Luminara Unduli, who's equipped with LEGO's newest fixation/trademark: the light-up lightsaber. Not a bad guestlist. So in conclusion, I'd recommend the Wookiee Catamaran to anyone who's got extra money to spend on something they'd love to have people gawk over in envy, but not necessarily play with.

This is a great toy!One time when I was playing with it, the wing fell and broke, but other than that it is a good toy.[I still think this toy should be cheaper].

I am 7 1/2 years old and it took me about two hours to build both the Swamp Speeder and the Catamaran. If you're more experienced than I am, well, it might take you an hour to do both. They were really fun to build and to play with when I was finished. The light-up light saber was really cool. And I especially like the blaster cannon. It shoots a rubber thingamajig all the way across our kitchen, and you have to be careful with it around your baby brothers or sisters or even your mom because it can HURT! I would buy it again anytime and recommend it to any Star Wars collector or Lego fan.
