I don't know if these particular poles are better or worse than any others, since this is my first set - but I can tell you that they have opened an avenue of exercise to me that was closed before.

I suffer with a lot of hip and knee pain, and walking more than a short distance unaided is a real chore. I always have to hold my husband's arm, because I drift around and stumble easily. With these poles, I can really walk again! The poles move some of the strain off the lower body onto the upper body, adding stability and speed to your stride. They work the upper body, providing an increased aerobic benefit and calorie burn, but the real benefit for me is that I can not only walk alone, but have reached speeds of 4+mph in just a couple of weeks. My balance is much improved, and the pain is gone when I use the poles! Sure, I get some looks and snickers - and dogs bark at me - but I don't care. All I know is that I am moving again, and having a great time! I wish I could use these poles everywhere, all the time.

Nordic Walking is easy and natural, but you do need to set up and use the poles correctly. There are lots of videos on the web showing correct sizing and technique. Honestly, I don't know why these poles are not as popular in the USA as they are in Europe. Now I just need to find some other folks to walk with!

Where have these been in the last 10 years?! I couldn't walk without staggering, since buying these Leki Walking Poles. I can now keep up with my husband. A day after getting them we went to a Riverside Market in our city and I walked around for 3 hours. Before the poles, I could not walk more than 30 minutes and then I needed a shopping cart. I would recommend them to everybody I can. Trainut is a happy camper to have his wife with him when he wants to go to places like that, so am I.

I could not get LEKI locally for my Nordic Walking class. I'm really glad I upgraded from the poles the course provided. The glove release is my favorite benefit. Great price, quick delivery, I was in business walking away.

LOVE my walking poles!! Using them for 8 months now, and they are DIVINE!!!! I bought these to replace GAIAM poles, which I have to my husband because they are noisy when you walk and they are heavy as well. THESE ARE WONDERFUL!!!
