These are a good value. I was paying up to $2 each for the same size (different brand) casing in a package of 6. These are a bit thinner than the $2 casings, but they have given me no problems, and are strong enough to pack the meat very tightly. They do stretch a bit when packed. I cook my sausage by slowly raising the smoker temperature to a maximum of180 degrees F and holding there until the sausage is 158 degrees. The casings are not affected at all by this moist heat, and come out as sound as when they went in. If the meat in your sausage recipe shrinks while being cooked, the casings will not shrink (much) with the meat, which means they will look a bit "wrinkled" after the cool down. You can prevent most of the wrinkles by keeping the air in the smoker at 100% humidity.

Awesome deal if you consider pounds of meat these casings hold. I managed to get 2.8-3 LB into each. Stuffed 15 casings, was pretty easy. You need 1" or so stuffing tube because these are so large.
Pros: string tied on one end for hanging
Holds large amount of meat
Will not rip
Seems to shrink together with meat

Cons: Can't see air pockets inside

Would definitely recommend these to anyone, but might wanna get clear ones so you can see whats inside of it.

So glad we went with the LEM casings. Used our LEM grinder to stuff these and it worked great! I also got the hog rings for the ends. Made our sausage today and my husband was really impress with how professional they looked when we were done. Can't be the price either. These, at the time, were the cheapest ones offered on Amazon. When we run out, we will be getting more!

Look no further. Soak these things for 15 mintues and you can stretch them, bend them, stuff them, squeeze them, whatever you want and they don't rip or tear. Worked wonderfully in the smoker, was able to get great smoke flavor into the meat and didn't allow moisture out. Highly recommend.

The casings are easy to use.

The only thing I didn't like was three of the knots gave way when I was hanging the sausage in the smoker.

The second batch we made we used our own knots and didn't have any problems.

I'll use this product again.

I use these for Summer Sausage. I don't use the full length as it would never fit in my smoker. It's nice to have the length to make my own custom sizes. The smoke permeates the meat very nicely and the casing are really easy to remove.

Made bologna and salami in these. Worked just fine. Found it better to remove the casing before I sliced it on the slicer, but I did slightly over cook them.

These casings work well and are of high quality. I expect nothing less from LEM products as I have had great experience with them in the past.

These worked very well! The smoke penetrated beautifully and the price was right! You can stuff these as full as you want and they will not bust. If you are smoking your sausage keep in mind the length especially if you are using a live smoker the ends get a little to close to flare ups in my smoker.
