4.0 out of 5 stars Young Dutch Sita's cheerfullness is adictive, June 25, 2006
This review is from: L'Envers Du Decor (Audio CD)
I'm not keen on cheerful, happy sounding music. When you would "read all my reviews" you see a lot of Nick Cave albums I have tried to push down your throat, just as a lot of soul shattering dark ambient like Lustmord or Raison d'Etre, extreme metal acts and just a bunch of weird sounding stuff like David Lynch's solo act "Blue Bob", Current 93 / Thomas Ligotti audio horror projects, and soundtracks to the off-beat movies by Jim Jarmusch (John Lurie, Tom Waits, composers) Steve Soderbergh and David Lynch.

But Sita's singing is so catchy, with such a high "sing along"attitude, that I have a special place in my heart for this album, and indeed, in my heart.
"l'Envers de décor" is, in fact, an inbetween album. It contains songs from her much praised debut "Happy" and her second album "Come with me" and, to many people's surprise, four original French songs. And young Sita sings as good in the Ooh-la-la! mood as in English.

Musically (drums, keyboard, guitars) all sound clear, simple and straight forward. As does Sita, but sometimes it's enough and would literary wit and musical complexness only ruin the fun. And Sita's album is a whole lotta fun no one like to see or hear ruined.

So play on. And sing along.
