Product Description

Amazon.com Review

This penguin-shaped juicer looks cute but operates with adult power and professional ease. The 110-watt, computer-controlled motor turns on automatically when half an orange, grapefruit, lemon, or lime is pressed against the cone. It turns off when pressure is released. (The cone is located under the black cap, which lifts off when the juicer is in use.) The two black arms extending from the juicer's gray body double as rotating spouts that connect to tubes leading from the bowl. When both are pointed down, you can fill two glasses with juice simultaneously. With one pointed up, juice flows only from the down-pointed spout into a single glass. The juicer is built to last: the exterior is made of thick, durable plastic and wipes clean, while the bowl, cone/strainer, and tubes inside the spouts are made of thick, heavy stainless steel and rinse clean. A brush is included to clean the spouts. The juicer stands 10 inches high and 7-1/2 inches wide. --Fred Brack

Product Description

High tech performance and design set this juicer apart from the others. The electric Citrus Juicer by L'Equip gives you great juice and more. It works via a computer controlled induction motor that constantly monitors the speed of the reamer and automatically adjusts power as needed. Juice flows only through the stainless steel parts in the arms, for great tasting, healthy results. And what's so unique is that you can juice 2 glasses simultaneously, so you can enjoy breakfast or a snack with someone without the wait! Use it with oranges, grapefruits, lemons and limes. It's so easy and versatile and simple to clean, too. Features automatic turn off system and a thermal protection motor device. Includes 12-year warranty.

1.0 out of 5 stars Functions poorly, looks goofy, October 18, 2003

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: L'Equip 206 Citrus Juicer (Kitchen)
I bought this because we had just moved to citrus country (Fillmore, CA), and had lots and lots of free oranges, lemons and grapefruit to juice. I though it looked kind of cool, however when it arrived my wife informed me it was ugly. Oh well, I thought, we'll keep it out of sight but it should crank through the fruit! NOT!

Within the first couple of weeks one of the welds broke and I had to send it back into the manufacturer. They replaced the part (a spout), but it's clear that the design is weak at this point and likely to break again. The reamer empties into a steel cup with two small tubes, to which the "penguin arms" attach. The act of attaching and removing the arms stresses the weld point where the tubes meet the cups. Additionally, the tubes are about the exact size of an orange seed, so it's common for them to clog up. Finally, it seems to overheat and quit for a few minutes after only a half-dozen fruit, then it has to sit for a while before we can use it again.

Bummer.
