4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty phat!
I'm I die-hard Backstreet Boys fan, and I usually scream and switch the radio station-or T.V. faster than lightning whenever another boyband such as sorry wannabes-otherwise known as *NSYNC (Or where ever the little * goes!) come on. However, this is not true with L.F.O. I looove Girl on T.V. (shooby-do-wop and scooby snacks, met a fly girl and I can't relax.) They...

In reading the former reviews of this album, I was horrified to find that someone had the utter gaul to say that "everyone in NC loves the album." Such a crass and vulgar generalization should not be accepted by anyone. However, this is not true with L.F.O. I looove Girl on T.V. (shooby-do-wop and scooby snacks, met a fly girl and I can't relax.) They have a lot of talent and I enjoy listening to their music. (Even though I'll always love the BSB the best.) So get the C.D. I don't think you'll be dissapointed. Unless you love hard rock bands like Korn. Which you probably don't if you're considering buying this C.D. Anyway, I highly reccommend this C.D. If you're still not sure about this buy, listen to the samples. That helps a lot! Peace out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Smooth, sophisticated, and spectacular!, June 16, 2000
This review is from: LFO (Audio CD)
In this day and age, I'm not sure about which type of music appeals most to teenagers: is it violent rap songs with horrifying lyrics or cheesy boy bands? LFO combines smooth, four-letter-word-free rapping with charming, pop-like lyrics in their songs. This creates wonderful, breezy tunes that are perfectly suitable for young teenagers. And what's more, they won't promote violence. Brad, Devin, and Rich write about the happy memories of girls that they met during the summer, not bubbly "boy-bandish" heartbreak and rejection. Despite a few corny lyrics in a few of their songs, their self-titled album includes many well-sung tracks such as "West Side Story" and "Girl On TV." Plus, the mix of acoustic guitars and hip-hop beats in their songs sound absolutely stunning. While others might tell you that the guys are advertising Abercrombie and Fitch in "Summer Girls," this just isn't so. You see, when Rich sings, "I like girls that wear Abercrombie and Fitch," he is trying to say, "I like girls that are laid-back, comfortable with themselves, and don't dress up for me." LFO is one of the best groups out there today, and you can find true meaning in many of their songs. Well done, guys.

4.0 out of 5 stars FEEL GOOD MUSIC, January 4, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: LFO (Audio CD)
I am a 35 year old doctors wife. I recently visited our local Circut City Retailer, and have subsequently become obcessed with LFO. As I was purchasing a gift for my husband I happened to walk by the TV section and these gorgeous(minors I am sure) were singing Girl On TV. I was so embarassed to find myself standing there staring at the TV like a lovesick teeny bopper--but guess what, when I looked around, I wasn't the only woman drooling. I asked the lady next to me who they were, she didn't know either. I stayed until the video was over to find out who they were, and subsequently, bought the cd. The woman that had been standing next to me bought it also. I don't normally listen to this kind of music, but it is a feel good cd. It reminded me of summers that I spent at the beach as a teenager; fun times as a carefree kid with no responsibilities. I read the reviews, maybe its not music for rocket scientists, but lighten up, live a little--dream--remember what it is like to be young and in love! I have tried to find their dvd of Girl On TV to work out to--no luck yet--I'll keep looking. Oh, I have a 7 year old son and a 4 year old daughter who love their album too, we crank up the Vandersteins, sing and dance together in the living room. We like the beat. Don't take life so serious, live a little!

5.0 out of 5 stars I love it!, January 22, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: LFO (Audio CD)
I don't know what everyone is talking about the lyrics being corny. If you listen to them closely, you catch the story. The lyrics in sumer girls tell how this guy met this really great girl over the summer and is telling all the great things he remembers. I love it and can't see how anyone couldn't!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Nice, November 8, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: LFO (Audio CD)
In a time where pop music, or at least that of the "boy bands", seems so contrived, LFO presents a great, fresh, new sound. A lot of people complain about the CD's failure to address important issues, but how many artists actually do? Music isn't usually made to right the wrongs in the world. This CD is diverse, with fun upbeat tracks as well as good ballads. I especially appreciate the incorporation of R&B into pop, giving the entire album a pleasing and unique sound. Sure, some of the lyrics aren't the deepest in the world, put they prove that they have a sense of humor, which many other pop groups lack. The guys also dare to do some rapping, not fearing being called "wannabes". Another plus is that they write and produce many of their songs. I would certainly like to see this group around for a long time. All of the members have great voices. I think you'll like the CD if you are a pop or R&B fan. In my opinion, this is a must have CD, one of the best I've bought this year. I can listen to the entire CD all the way through without skipping tracks, a rare quality to find it today's CD's. They definitely blow their so-called competition away.

I bought my cd yesterday, which was when I was in an airport my only chance to buy it. I went straight away to my dads computer and listened to the whole cd and wouldn't let anyone else listen. They are the best. They are already better them most of the other boy bands, and their single Summer Girls has gone platinum and their album will soon! People in Beijing are dying to have them do a concert here. If you are dubious to buy the cd because you haven't listened to all of the songs don't be. All their songs rock. LFO RULES!

In reading the former reviews of this album, I was horrified to find that someone had the utter gaul to say that "everyone in NC loves the album." Such a crass and vulgar generalization should not be accepted by anyone. L.F.O. represent absolutely everything that is wrong with the music business: utterly senseless lyrics, unnaturally clean production, and hordes of ignorantly devoted fans. This is undoubtly some sort of Marxist insubordination attempt.

1.0 out of 5 stars THE WORST SINGLE ENTITY IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD, September 18, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: LFO (Audio CD)
This garbage is just so bad that it really transcends music. I've had trouble thinking of anything that just made such a mockery out of its feld as LFO does to music. In 20 years, society is going to look back on this joke and shake their heads in shame. We have reached the low point in the history of music.

My favourite song EVER is "Girl On TV", so of course I have this CD! There a lots of awesome songs on this album, but a few of them sound exactly the same, and the words aren't very....uh...original lets say. THE CD IS STILL REALLY GOOD THOUGH! I would say that the best song on it is...."Girl On TV" obviously!
