LG 32LG40 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV with Built-in DVD Player

I purchased the 32LG40 last Sunday. I really wanted a HDTV/DVD combo, and this looked pretty good in the store. It shipped quick (Tuesday), but I didn't have time to set it up until Saturday. The picture is acceptable, but the sound can be buzzy and tinny on some cable stations. My big problem is with the DVD player. First, its pretty noisy. Second, it sends feedback through the TV speakers. It's loud enough to be distracting when watching a movie. I can't believe that it is supposed to operate like this. I contacted LG's service department and they told me to contact a local TV repair shop to see if it can be repaired under warranty. I hope it can be repaired, but I'm afraid I'm going to hear, "that's just the way it is".

The two stars are for the acceptable picture. The non HD channels are not too sharp. A lot of pixalation with action movies.The DVD player is VERY noisy and if you turn up the volume you can hear the noise through the speakers. The tv hasn't got much volume so you have to really turn it up to play a movie and with volume comes more noise from the DVD player.I have the DVD audio hooked up to a surround amp and the speakers pick up the motor noise. It sounds like some kind of a ground problem inside the unit. I also see a tiny red laser like dot in the screen on all channels that I suspect is a bad pixel. Needless to say, I am sending it back.

This is exactly what it says it is. Good looking tv. The DVD is great. It is easy to switch back and forth. I read about the noice issue with the DVD but I haven't yet noticed it. For those without cable or dish, this tv hooks up to a regular old antennae without a problem. Good for those to make the switch to digital without multiple remote controls or other hookup problems.

I purchased the LG tv for our bedroom, to replace a smaller standard tv. The LG picture is great and the built in DVD player is also a great idea. I read other reviews and a couple said the DVD player was noisey. So far, I can not complain with mine. Yes, when you first insert a disc, it sounds like a laptop DVD drive spinning as it reads the disc, but after a few seconds, the noise is gone and the picture is playing. Great tv and great service through Ammazon.com and their supplier. The tv came in its original pack and was then packed in a larger carton with foam packing all around it. Excellent service and no damage to the product.

I saw this TV in a store before looking online, & compared to other TVs side-by-side (in price range) this one is by far the best in picture. With the built-in DVD player & Amazon's current price holding, it can't be beat. Bright whites, dark blacks, vibrate colors, & an easy-to-use interface. Without hesitation I'd recommend this TV to anyone. Simply put: for price, cannot be beat in quality; no need to look any further.

So far the TV has been a great purchase, very pleased. If there were a downside to the DVD player it would be a very faint noise feedback when playing. Certainly not enough to wory about.

great design, easy installation, quite good picture, but the DVD is disturbingly noisy when watching a movie. It can be heard despite the sound of the movie.

I've had this TV for almost 4 months and am very happy with it. The Picture is great for the price, with very vibrant colors and contrasts. The blacks are not as dark as you can find on more expensive TVs, but are as good as you can find in this price range. The DVD is noisy, which is really unfortunate. The Speakers are ok, but nothing great. I'd highly recommend this TV if you are looking for a TV that you will output sound to a stereo receiver. I actually found this at a price less expensive than the model without the built-in DVD player! Also, the high number of HDMI and other inputs is really fantastic. I do not regret this purchase at all!

We bought this TV for our daughter's room and we are very pleased with everything. The picture is probably the best in the house with three other HD LCD's around here competing for that title. I have become a bit of a fan of LG products over the past year or so and this one adds to my list of reasons why. It is perfect for a bedroom ... She doesn't crank it up real loud for any reason so I can't comment on the sound much, but she's happy with the way it performs for her use.
