Awesome HDTV!,

This review is from: LG 37LC7D 37-Inch 720p LCD HDTV (Electronics)
I don't know what everyone's deal is with busting on LG, but everything my friends have had from LG has stood up to some serious abuse! This TV is great. With the high contrast ratio, and probably the fatest refresh rate I've seen, it's too good to pass up. The price doesn't hurt either. I got lucky and got this as an open box item at Best Buy, for the price of the 32" version.
Image - 10 Sound - 8, not bad at all, but not outrageously good or anything Fast-moving images - 10! It works great when I play Halo 3 Normal TV isn't too bad, especially with the normal size aspect ratio. I can't wait to have HDTV on this thing. Highly recommended thus far. I will update if anything goes bad.

A Great Buy,

I purchased this TV at Future Shop (Canada's answer to Best Buy) and have no regrets. It was my first foray into HD TVs and I did quite a bit of research before settling on it. I purchased an open box version and got quite a good deal on it. We use it with a Toshiba HDDVD + upscaling DVD along with a Playstation 2, a Wii and HD Cable. It performs very well in any of these applications. The picture is bright and sharp even though the TV faces a very large window. The blacks are black and the color is brilliant. Immediately after we purchased it we used it to watch the second half of the Planet Earth DVDs (we had watched the first half on our Sony CRT) and the difference was like night and day.
The only downside we've found is with the close captioning using the HD cable. If you Google it you'll find the solution, but it's not too easy getting the captioning working and is a pain to turn on and off. But that's really our only concern with it. I have no trouble recommending this one. We love it.

TV IS BAD; LG WILL NOT RESPOND TO PROBLEM,

This TV was a gift for us in May of 2007, purchased from Magnolia Home Theater and the extended warranty was not purchased. The first problem it had required a factory modification 3 months after we received it. It stopped responding to the remote and the menus on the TV were impossible to use via the side buttons. The second problem showed up in early 2009, well beyond the 1-year warranty. It turned itself off unexpectedly. Repeatedly. The repair service was called and we spent almost $500.00 on repairs. The power supply was replaced in April, 2009. In June, 2009, it turned itself off again, unexpectedly. Of course the repair service would not back up their work. And LG refused to do anything. I am very disappointed in a company that will not replace a unit that is clearly defective in some way, warranty or not. That's bad business and bad customer relations. I will not purchase an LG product again. Purchasing an extended warranty on a new product is ludicrous, has always been ludicrous. It only adds to the up-front cost and is merely a way for the seller to add to their profit, betting that MOST of the units they sell will not have problems. I believe it is a deceptive practice. Did I have a choice and could I have purchased an extended warranty? Yes, from the seller, but not from LG. It seems that's the way companies do business these days: "just get it out the door, don't worry about customer satisfaction when something goes wrong, especially if it's only a low percentage of customers; the majority of people will never know that our products are duds and we won't do anything to fix them."

Excellent performing HDTV at near bargain price,

I have had this television for about 6 months now. I originally purchased an open box display unit that mysteriously would shut itself on and off. Once it was off it wouldn't power up for hours with the switch or remote. After thoroughly checking all the timer and alarm settings I called LG about the problem only to find that the serial number had already been registered with this complaint and scheduled for a return to the factory. Circuit City shamelessly tried to sell it instead!
Anyway I got a brand new model from CC for the same price because of their mistake. And have loved every minute of owning this unit. I immediately upgraded my digital cable to include an HD DVR and purchased a Yamaha 5.1 receiver for optimal sound. (Mostly to use with my Mac mini home theater connected with a DVI to HDMI cable and sound through a TOSlink optical cord.) Television quality is excellent. Nice high contrast ratio. Response rate is quick for sports and F1 races (and gaming is superb in HD!) Overall I couldn't recommend this HDTV enough. LG continues to impress me with their quality and value.

I bought this TV 2 yrs ago and I can tell you that the picture & sound quality is alright... Also, now that new devices use HDMI connections, having just 2 is not enough. I like that the TV has RCA connection in the left side (Which is convenience). Over all, this TV is pretty good.

Lg Electronics M3701c-ba Black 37" Wide Screen Hdtv Compatible LCD T.v.
Delivery speedy and driver unpacked and checked basic operation. With Directv Satellite service even HD programming is excellent. Even quieting of commercial volume works. Only negatives thus far (3 weeks) are: a)to much time for channels to change ( maybe satellite?) b)operations manual is on CD. The printed one has far to little info, but will get you started.

I've had this TV for about 3 years it was just right for what I needed. The picture quality is bright and clear. The sounds is good but not great but with everyone having a surround sound system I don't think it hurts the TV at all. The controller is simple to use and the TV menu is simple enough. I'd give it 8.5/10

I am not an expert in electronics so I will keep this short and sweet. This tv was just the right size for my needs, has an excellent picture (as far as my eyes are concerned) and the price was right!! I am pleased with the purchase.

We ordered the TV via Amazon and even though shipping would have been free, I paid a little extra to have it delivered in 3 days because I feared the longer it stayed in the shipping process, the better the chances of it being damaged.
Anyway, we are very happy with the TV. The distance from which you watch it is important. The best picture is from a distance of about 15' away. Any closer, and the picture isn't as great. But it's hard to go back to regular TV once you've watched it in HD. I'm hopelessly spoiled! The set up was EASY! I read reviews about how difficult it was to set it up, and that's bogus. It was very easy. Given, I am electronically inclined, but I think my husband could have set it up easily and he's a doof. Haha! The sound is great too, especially for built in speakers. I was scared to buy something this pricey online, because if something goes wrong, you're kind of screwed. But the entire process from purchase to delivery was perfect. I do recommend reading up on sellers though, before you decide to go for it. Read other customer reviews on the seller!!! I changed my mind on a seller last minute and paid a little more for the TV just because I had a bad feeling.

Bad picture quality,
This review is from: LG 37LC7D 37-Inch 720p LCD HDTV (Electronics)
I bought this HDTV yesterday and it doesn't work right at all. The TV cannot seem to produce the color black, and replaces anything that is dark with big ugly red bars. I'm sure this could just be mine, but I purchased it new at Best Buy, so I do not think it should have this problem out of the box. I watched an entire movie with the menu open trying to adjust everything I could to make the picture better, but it never worked. Don't be fooled by the cheap price, this television is useless. Save your money and buy a more expensive TV that will work.
