Water sprays out of the detergent drawer,

This review is from: LG 4.5 CF STEAM WASHER RED
I bought this washer in January 2010. I love the way it gets the clothes clean and saves on my water and electric bill. But, a washer that costs this much money should not have water spraying out of the detergent drawer all down the front of the washer. Also when I use the sanitary cycle there is a metallic or burning smell when the washer is running. I have had a service man out for this problem and he told me I was probably using too much detergent. I told him that is not true. I following the operating instructions exactly, use HE detergent and I do not put near as much detergent as the cup calls for. There are two lines on the liquid detergent cup, normal and max. I do not even fill it to the normal line, it is way below and still it sprays out. I have called them again and they are supposed to come back out but I have a feeling he will tell me the same thing. I will update this review afterward. If you can put up with the spraying problem and the metallic burning smell then by all means this is a good washer and does a really good job. The steam cycle is really good to refresh an outfit that is wrinkled or has been in the closet for a while and had that musty odor.
Ok, it is one week from the time the repair man came of the second time, he still tells me there is nothing wrong with the washer and he burning smell is normal. EXCUSE Me....NORMAL??? You have got to be kidding. I waited for LG to contact me, no such luck. I finally called them back and was told since the repairman could find nothing wrong there was nothing they could do for me. LG's customer service is for the birds. They do not want to help you, they do not care once you have purchased the product. I asked to speak to her supervisor, she informed me she was the only supervisor and I was out of luck. LG stinks

Design flaw allows mold, trashes clothes, high upkeep,

I have owned my WM3001 LG washer for 2 years. In the first year using powder detergent mold grew between the drums that could not be removed. Tub cleanse cycle, bleach, baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, Whirl Out, vinegar do not remove the mold from between the drums. The problem is the rubber door gasket that is pierced with 3 holes in the center bottom that allows water to infiltrate and collect between the drums so mold grows. Mold also collects in the manual drain tubing and filter. Irony of all ironies there is a sticker on the front saying "Certified asthma and allergy friendly. Meets ASP-WM-01:07 Standard of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America". Well, mold IS my asthma trigger and my toddler has eczema. Our clothes and towels smell moldy when wet. I contacted LG to address this and was told to fax my original sales receipt. Then they claimed never to have received it. So I emailed them a photo of the receipt and I was told I would be contacted by extended warranty service for a 1 time service call. I never was contacted again. Customer service is indeed negligible. Regardless this washer requires unacceptably high upkeep and it is so harsh on clothing and towels (unraveling them after 3 washes) that only the gentlest cycle can be used despite all the fancy options. Not what I paid for. Still looking for some satisfaction on this purchase.
