I paired this up with my Blue-Ray player and you will never go back. Totally different viewing experience that has to be seen to be believed. The 1080p / 50,00-1 contrast ratio is as good as it gets and compared to "other" brands with higher prices, this does the same exact thing for 400 to 600 dollars LESS. I did my research ;p. Now get this TV.

I was a little hesitant to buy this TV at first we were really comparing them to the Samsungs and I was surprised at how much more I like this TV. Samsung is a trusted brand in my home so that was the main reasoning. We got this TV at our local BestBuy it happened to be a display TV that they rotate every two months and sell the old one. You can buy the 4 year protection warranty through them and they fix it or replace it if need be. Which with that and our wall mount it came to about what you would pay to get it through Amazon. After getting it all mounted on the wall and watching my first complete Jazz game in HD I was not disapointed at all. The contrast ratio is amazing and it is just crystal clear. Unfortunately it couldn't make the Jazz play better but I enjoyed it thoroughly. Haven't played any video games on it yet but the plans are in motion to get a PS3 now that I have this. Can't beat it love the fact it has a lot of HDMI slots and one even to the side for easier plug in. My wife can't get over the power button which is kind of a cool little feature. I am taking a second look at LG products in the future. Hate their phones but LOVE THEIR TVs!!!!03/09/10 Don't know if it is the VGA cables I bought or the TV but I have to unplug the HDMI to my cable box when I use this as monitor to watch movies online through my computer. For some reason it creates interference lines to go through my monitors and also some background noise. It does it when you have your DVR from your cable company or just the basic cable from an antenae plugged in. Kind of annoying but I just moved the Cable HDMI cable to the side one and simply unplug it after I get the movie ready on Netflix. Sometimes it has problems pairing but I blame the Motorolla HDDVR that I have from Comcast. Still no complaints at all. Working on getting a blu ray player for it still.

Got this off HSN with free shipping...easy to set up,beautiful picture, hdmi's made blu ray dvd and cable box set up a breeze. Remote works for tv and dvd easily. The blu-ray really popped the dvd..it's unbelievably sharp. No complaints. Compared it to the sonys and samsungs first. Very pleased with the 120hz and 50,000:1 contrast ratio for this price. You can adjust the sound and picture to the mode you want..cinema, sport, set by program, etc. And it has an automatic lighting adjustment in case you turn on a light, it will readjust the picture.

Great picture. We love our Samsung 50" plasma, but there is still a conversion problem with FIOS, which makes us lose connection, so we looked at other brands. LG is a great value for the money. The picture is comparable to the Samsung. The sound got a bad rap in many reviews I read, but I think it's just fine. We just listed through the internal speakers. Also considered the 42LG70 model. Almost exactly the same except the 70 is more $. One internet site referred to the 60 as an upgrade over the 70 so that made up our minds. I found later that the 70 has an extra audio output that I might have used. Set up was easy right out of the box except for the stand. If you're not going to mount it on the wall, the stand is a little tricky to assemble. Overall I would make the same purchase again.

I bought it through amazon. Really a very good price compared to SONY and Samsung. The Picture quality is great and HD is full and involving. Also free voltage (100-240v) and rotating screen. Sounds like a trivial function, but a rotating screen is an important function if you would like to view the screen from various points in your house. And you have a hard time fiding a rotating table for this kind of TV. Overall, a very nice product with a very nice price.

I am very pleased with the TV. The picture quality is excellent, and the sound is good, for a non surround system. The product was easy to assemble to the stand. Using the set was easy. The on screen instructions were easy to follow. I researched similiar sets with the same specificatons. 42LG60 was the best value for the dollar. The only negative was that Picture in picture is not an option

TV looks great even with std-def digital signal, and off-air HD looks great!I missed it to have an s-video connection to hook up current direct-tv dvr, but hope all is gone when I switch to HD DVR.

If you like a Gray vertical stripe....,
This review is from: LG 42LG60 42-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV, Gloss Piano Black with Scarlet Red (Electronics)
After waiting 2 weeks for its arrival you can only imagine my dismay when I took it out of its box, pluged it in to see a 1/4 inch wide grey strip running from top to bottom in the middle of the screen. Picture was great if only the stipe was not there. Needless to say, TV went back and the supplier does not have any more, so here I sit trying to decide on another brand of TV.
