Intelligent Sensor
Unlike other sensors which can only sense brightness of ambient light, LG's "Intelligent Sensor" uses 4,096 sensing steps to evaluate its surroundings. Using a sophisticated algorithm, the LG processes picture quality elements including brightness, contrast, color, sharpness and white balance. The result is a picture optimized for its surroundings, more pleasing to watch and which can also save up to 50% in power consumption.

AV Mode
The AV Mode optimizes the picture into Cinema, Sports, and game Mode according to the video and audio content. The viewer has the ability to quickly choose the correct mode for the picture they are viewing.

Clear Voice Technology
Automatically enhances and amplifies the sound of human voice frequency range to help keep dialogue audible when background noise swells.

ISFccc
This TV contains the detailed calibrations necessary for professional certification by the Imaging Science Foundation. The resulting ISF "day" and "night" modes will then be accessible by the user to experience the best their LG HDTV has to offer.

Invisible Speaker System
LG's 2008 line of TVs include a unique invisible speaker system, tuned by renowned audio expert, Mr. Mark Levinson. Speakers are embedded in strategic spots behind the front cabinet and use minute vibrations to turn the entire front bezel into the speaker system. The result is a clean, polished look, and enhanced audio by increasing the "sweet spot," giving a wider and richer sound field.

Expert Mode
Sophisticated and detailed calibrations can be made through the easily accessible Expert Mode. (Up to 25 more fine adjustment points than typical TVs) This allows the user to optimize the picture quality, based on the viewing environment, lighting conditions or type of content.

XD Engine
LG's proprietary XD Engine technology takes low-resolution analog signals to near high-definition levels, providing better overall picture quality and an enhanced viewing experience. 24p Real Cinema
Hi-def movies run at 24 frames per second, the speed that they were originally filmed in, making your home-cinema experience one step closer to a "Real Cinema" experience.

3D Digital Comb Filter
3D Digital Comb Filter makes images softer and cleaner. Unlike existing comb filters, the 3D Digital Comb Filter in LG LCD TVs separates signals for brightness and color with digital technology. This eliminates edge crawls and rainbow effects while extending the resolution, clearly separating color boundaries and making images softer and cleaner.

HDMI 1.3 with Deep Color
HDMI delivers sharper, cleaner images and sounds without any data loss, making it suitable for graphic and multimedia users.

HDMI 1.3 supports 30-bit, 36-bit and 48-bit (RGB or YCbCr) color depths. Previous versions of the HDMI specification only supported 24-bit color depth.

• Eliminates on-screen color banding, for smooth tonal transitions and subtle gradations between colors
• Enables increased contrast ratio
• Can represent many times more shades of gray between black and white. At 30-bit pixel depth, four times more shades of gray would be the minimum, and the typical improvement would be eight times or more.

Bought thru Amazon.com and recvd excellent svc. Delivery men did not set up as TV was very cold and not recommended even turning it on until warmed to room temp. Lacked info in manual as to size of eye-bolt reqd on rear for stand-stabilization. Great for large room and viewing at at least eight feet or more. NO light reflections at all on screen, even when using a flashlight directly on to the screen.

I bought online, but only after looking at a LOT of TVs in stores. For me, the major selling point for this LG was that the screen is very bright and still has good contrast, making a very nice picture -- I didn't see anything better for anywhere near this price. The PC and USB inputs are very useful bonuses, which are missing from some of the cheaper 52" sets. I don't have external speakers yet, but the built-in speakers sound pretty decent so I'm not in a hurry to do that now. I'm using it with DirecTV HD, and the picture is beautiful, so I'm very satisfied with this TV.

Wow! I'm in high definition bliss. This is a great TV. I'm becoming a snob and won't watch anything that isn't in HD. I love this TV!
