LG 9600 Qwerty Detachable Keyboard

The keys are way too small on the VERSA to type without it! The ONLY problem that I've found with it is that the sound while having the keyboard closed seems to be very muffled for the person on the other line...so sometimes I have to keep the keyboard open..which is just awkward and kinda annoying but doable. Would def. still recommend it though!

I figured it'd be a good product. I was really excited to receive it and get to texting because I tend to cuss out my phone when I'm typing on the virtual keyboard. When I got it, excited. Attached it to the phone, it worked okay. The front screen wasn't working but I wasn't going to complain about that. Then after an hour, my phone was heating up to scorching temperatures. Next thing I know, my phone dies right after I finished charging it. Then it won't turn back on. The QWERTY killed my battery! And before I could figure that one out, it managed to fry my phone as well! So I ended up having to get a replacement phone from Verizon.
Hopefully anything anybody else buys works perfectly!

I was really annoyed when I bought my Versa and it didn't come with the advertised keyboard. No problem, I said to myself, I'll just buy one on Amazon. I had it for about three months before I accidentally dropped it on the cement around a pool and it stopped working (not the phone, just the keyboard)

Anyway.

Pros:
Keyboard! My fingers are too big to use the QWERTY touchscreen keyboard and T9 takes forever. After having an LG enV for years before this phone and being frustrated with the touchscreen T9, having the keyboard was wonderful.

Less scratches! I'm horrible at keeping things unscratched. Having the keyboard protecting my screen was great and kept my screen looking nice.

Cons:
Awkward! When closed, it opens backwards. I guess I'm just used to weird things like books that open to the left instead of to the right.

Front! The front screen is kind of ugly. It just has a small monochrome screen and two little buttons for call and hang up. You can only call the last person you called or who called you without opening the phone up.

I received this keypad this week . . . if you own the Versa, you need to purchase this wonderful attachment! It will make everything so much easier, i.e., texting and even playing games. Also, I just realized that there is an arrow cursor when you are on the web . . . awesome bonus!!! It is a shame that Verizon has discontinued this phone in less than a year, which I do not understand why . . . the phone is fabulous with no technical problems whatsoever. If you are one of the lucky to get your hands on this phone, then I urge you to get this pad before they are completely gone.

The keyboard does not work and there is no contact info for IBD Electronics. I cannot contact them via their phone or email...they have been no help...seems to be a scam....don't waste your money as I did....

This keyboard works great! It makes the phone very similar to having the LG enV Touch or enV3, and the keys are the same size as the keyboards on those phones, but they are spread out a little bit more, making typing just a little bit easier than it would be on those phones. This company shipped perfectly on time with no problems; the unit arrived on the day that Amazon had said it would. The only problem I have with the unit is that it squeaks every time I open or close the keyboard, and I text a lot, so this happens quite often. It started squeaking about a week after I had it, and I've only had it about a month, so I don't know if the product was defective or if so much texting caused the squeaking. Take that as you will. All in all, though, the keyboard is fantastic.

The versa used to come with this accessory but they stopped including it. I have no idea why. I love it. It is way easier for me to type on physical keys then on the touch screen they included. Plus for only $10 it was way worth it. Not bad as a case either.

My husband recently downgraded from his Blackberry Storm 2 to the LG 9600 because he no longer needed the Blackberry. He bought the LG Versa from a private owner but they didn't have the qwerty keypad so I ordered this keypad for him. This qwerty keyboard is awesome! It protects the entire phone. You have to take off the original battery cover to snap it on. The keypad replaces the original battery cover and also serves as a protective cover. It's a hard case that looks a lot like leather. The entire phone is protected which is good because he's constantly dropping and breaking his phones. The keys are also really responsive. We both played around with it a little bit and didn't encounter any issues with it. Overall its a really nice and durable qwerty keypad and I highly recommend it! I would definitely get one before they are all gone....

My son now loves the keyboard. Took him a few to get use to it. His old phone had a keyboard and he used it all the time. When we had to get him another phone he chose a touch screen everything. He thought he would like it but never did. I did some research found out I could buy a keyboard so i did. it hooks on to the phone making it bulkier the he thought it would. Using the keyboard was odd he said cuz when you flipped it open you hold a thin keyboard and the top was thick from the phone. Once he used it a few times he got use to it and loves it now.
