Can I use this unit to watch 3d content from a BenQ W770ST Short Throw 3D 720p HD DLP Home Theater Projector? Sep 17, 2014
Short answer yes. I have had this device at my home and the same unit in the office. My Home Theater System is all top of the line and the inexpensive LG works better than my higher dollar Sony BDP-S7200.
Is this compatible to hook up surround sound Oct 16, 2014
Yes it is compatible to hook up to surround sound. The LG BP540 has only one audio output. It's a coaxial or coax digital. It's best if you use a dedicated cable made for this, but a well shielded RCA cable can do in a pinch. The other way is pass through the HDMI from the player to the receiver and back out to the television, assuming your surround sound system has such input and output. Finally, there are no analog outputs on this player, and it must be said that this is standard for most blu-ray players. Supports up to 5.1 surround, maybe 7.1 but I don't have that kind of system.
