With its slim profile and wall-mount compatibility, the L1710 from LG electronics makes a perfect addition to any ergonomically conscious household. This 17-inch TFT LCD has a 1,024 x 768 resolution and 0.264 mm dot pitch, which combine with a 450:1 contrast ratio and 250 cd/m2 of brightness to deliver crisp, accurate images and easy-to-read text. Additionally, the anti-glare screen treatment helps to cut back on reflections and the resulting eyestrain. Wide 160-degree horizontal and 140-degree vertical viewing angles, -5 degree to +30-degree tilt, and 360-degree swivel allow you to adjust the monitor for maximum viewing comfort.

RGB analog signals are accepted via a 15-pin mini D-sub port, while plug-and-play compatibility means that setup is quick and painless. TCO'99 and Energy Star compliant, the L1710 consumes about 40 watts of power during normal operation and 3 watts on standby. With the onscreen menus, you can adjust a wide variety of monitor settings, including brightness, contrast, color, and H/V position. Compatible with both PC and Mac operating platforms (a Mac adapter may be required), the L1710 comes backed by a three-year quick swap warranty.

I've had this monitor for about 18 months and have not had a single problem or a dead pixel.

I did a lot of research and testing and lookng at monitors and I found this one to be the best quality for under $500. It was less than $300 when I bought it.
