Think twice before buying,
By
This review is from: LG Electronics LFC23760SW Freestanding Bottom Freezer Refrigerator, White (Kitchen)
If you buy this refrigerator we highly recommend an extended warranty and you might want to consider purchasing a freezer to salvage your frozen foods during breakdowns.
Our first breakdown was 41 days after purchase. The second breakdown was (to the day) one year from delivery. Warranty would not cover it because it was 1 year and 4 days from purchase date. Not delivery date but purchase date. Third breakdown was one year and 54 daays from delivery. Guess what--we don't give this refrigerator a single recommendation. And by the way, we tried to talk to LG about the number of service calls and their only comment was "have a nice day". They really don't care that they have sold you an inferior product.

JUNK ! Fails with supply line fluctuation,

Our unit was just out of warranty when a high wind day evidently caused power fluctuations. All our clocks were fine, but fridge was dark. LG played hot potato to Sears, where we were on hold for a half hour only to be told we weren't covered and they couldn't get a service person out until Saturday (it's Tuesday here in the capital city of Wisconsin). The photo above highlights the fuse that blows, and it is "not replaceable", except to change out the entire control board part number EBR41531032 according to the guy on the phone, but it found no results on the distributor's website. Supposedly almost $200 (plus trip, time, and tax if you have someone else do it). I digress, my food is melting and I am off to Radio shack to buy a soldering iron and a fuse. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT OR ANYTHING ELSE FROM LG.

Two years old and two problems,

I bought this unit on 11/30/08. Unit started dumping ice in the back and would fall out when you open the freezer door. After Puttin up with it for 8 months I did some research on line and on LG website it said there was a fix. Called LG (website scheduling did not work). They sent a man out. He said there was no fix, this model always does it. I pressed him and showed him what I found on line. He order a new ice maker and bin assembly. It was just like the old one and did not fix the problem. It still does it. (SICK)
Now 11/21/10 (sunday morning) the unit was DEAD. No lights or anything. Did some troubleshooting and found fuse blown on the board on the back. Read on line here where another person found the same thing. I am off to Radio Shack now to get a real fuse holder and fuse. HOpe that is it. Not happy about $200 for new board (mentioned in an earlier review).

Lasted 3 years,

We had this refrigerator for less than 3 years when it died. Apparently the circuit board went out and that would cost at least $350 to $400 or more to have repaired. The circuit board is not included in the warranty unless you spend A LOT of money for an extended warranty. That's not the way we run our own business! The bottom shelf broke under a watermelon the first year and has been duct taped together and all of the rollers had broken off of the produce drawers within two years. Slide in drawers without rollers would make more sense. The controls seemed a little touchy all along and I wish I had caught the problem with the circuit board... if it was there... in the first year. Very disappointing experience.

Fridge is a lemon,
This review is from: LG Electronics LFC23760SW Freestanding Bottom Freezer Refrigerator, White (Kitchen)
Similar to the other reviewers, my fridge quit working 18 months to the day after installation. My HVAC guy was out for someother work and took a look - compressor quit running. Compressor is under warranty, however, the labor is not. It is several hundred in labor to get it fixed, AND, it has to be through an LG certified repairman, of which there are none close to me. After two days of the runaround from LG, I finally decided it wasn't worth my headache to get it fixed. I'll buy a new fridge this weekend, and it won't be an LG.My last fridge lasted over ten years and I expected this one to last at least 5. Very very disappointed in the product and the lack of customer service from LG.

LG LFC23760SW French Door bottom freezer,
This review is from: LG Electronics LFC23760SW Freestanding Bottom Freezer Refrigerator, White (Kitchen)
We bought this LG refrigerator from a local reputable store in December 14 2008. About 2 weeks later the french door seal had to be replaced . Then it began to come apart again and now it is held in place by clear cellophane tape. 12 months later,2009, the computer board went out and had to be replaced at a cost of $300 to us plus the expense of buying dry ice to keep inside it until the repairs could be made. Now as of 10/28/11 the refrigerator is not working. Another service call is due in 4 days. More dry ice to buy, spoiled food to throw out. After the service call and repairs are made this lemon is out the door. We are buying another brand with the same features. Appliances are not made to last anymore. They are made to be disposable. Our 15 yr old Whirlpool top freezer refrigerator was in great working order but we gave it to our daughter. It is still working. Not one problem. Run from thinking about buying an LG refrigerator. Save yourself big and expensive headaches.
