I bought two of these and they work great. I originally bought them for two small windows in a converted attic, but when I saw how well they worked and how much quieter than are than the normal-sized A/C in our bedroom, I swapped one of these into our big bedroom window and we're now sleeping better with plenty of cool air and a quieter machine. I thought this small unit wouldn't have enough power to cool a full-size room in the middle of a New York August, but it's been great.

I subtracted one star for the same problem we have with all window A/C units: the lights on the front are too bright in a dark bedroom. We put post-it notes over ours to darken the room.

Doesn't provide good quality for the price! Very loud, especially when the aggregate starts! Promised quiet sound is far from real!! Besides, the front cover makes jingling sound when the AC turn on adding to the noise. Had to put some isolator between the cover and the body of AC to diminish it. Very heavy as well, low profile does not make it smaller! Not easy to install either. If it would be less trouble to return I will definitely do just that!

I've had 2 low profile LG a/c units in the past six years. They looked great, were somewhat quiet and did an excellent job cooling off the room-- that is for a while. The first one died in the first 3 months. Getting LG customer service to exchange it for a new model was very frustrating-- once I got through to a representative. It took 15 calls over weeks before they agreed. The newer one builds up excess condensation, sometimes spits water into the air, and makes swooshing noises that disrupt my sleep. The unit was professionally installed, and I had an appliance repairman over to look fix the moisture problem. But I'd need him to come every summer for it to work properly. This unit is high maintenance, not reliable and just not worth it!

Under product details the Amazon copy for this item reads "20 pounds" . That is not true since copy on the shipping container
states "55 pounds". You must correct this.

I brought this ac because I trusted your 20 pounds copy since I am am an 80 year old that weighs only 135 pounds. Was I surprised when the ac arrived and I could hardly lift it. I had to hire an installer to lift the unit and install.

I have no problems with the ac at present.

My reservation is I don't know how the all-plastic outer cover of the ac will withstand the elements of sun, wind rain and snow. Up to this time all of the ac I purchased have been metal.

First let me start by saying this is a nice looking unit and would have been perfect for my odd shaped bedroom window.
If you are looking for a fan, this is for you! As far as the AC portion, when that turns on it makes a big boom and then the AC sounds like a freight train in the room.
I called LG and as he read from a script asked "if it was installed properly" I tried to explain that from the time it was plugged in, it made the noise but he kept with the script. Seriously, how hard is it to put a small AC in a window?
I then proceeded to call Amazon. They have the best customer service! They were understanding! They sent me a return slip. Going to be returned tomorrow.
Back to the drawing board to find an AC that will fit my bedroom window!
