Great price for a great monitor,

I was in the market for a 19 inch monitor due to my entire legal library being on the internet and/or on CD. My 17 incher (an LG model as well) was very reliable, but it was not giving me the size that I need. I tried comparable models from Sony, Viewsonic, NEC, etc., and I really was not happy with any of them (price being the main factor). This LG display is great in that the text is rich, clear, and very comfortable to read. The response time, although impressive for gamers, was not much of an issue for me, but it showed so nicely when scrolling the text. The only downside to this monitor was the tilting software, but I really don't need it anyway. I mean who cares if the monitor can twist and turn?!?! The display is so much more important! For the price, there is no better monitor. The colors are vibrant, and it is so easy on the eyes (especially after 5 hours of continuous use - for work, not games). I strongly recommend this monitor to anyone who needs a quality 19 inch display for an affordable price. Plus, the $150 rebate ain't so bad either.

Fine for the price,

Very good at the price. Rotation a little stiff and unwieldy. First try caused plastic cover on arm to pop off, but it was easily put back on.
Note for Mac users-will not automatically rotate image (no mac driver) but you can use OS X "Display" preference panel "Rotate" pop up button.

I needed a new monitor for my new Sony Vaio. I checked out a few at places like Best Buy, Circuit City, Staples etc. I thought I wanted the Samsung until I saw it side by side with the LG. No comparison! Great moniter, Great price, easy setup.

Overall, I give this monitor a 4 because of the poor picture quality and the touch sensitive adjusting bottoms. I bought this monitor for my HP media Center and when I play my movies on it, the picture was not that good. Plus the touch sensitive bottoms for adjusting the contrast and brightness was way too sensity, it was very annoying. This monitor is great for the office or other things like surfing the net. This monitor is sleek and nice looking. But I don't recommend this monitor for anyone who is going to use on a media center for watching movies or tv. You should get a monitor with a higher contrast and resolution than this monitor plus get a good video card too.
P.S. Turns out my HP media center was the main factor of the poor picture quality. They used El Cheapo video card and tv turner card. But still you should get a monitor with higher contrast and resolution if you are into picture quality like me. |
