Restricted Profiles. Put your tablet into a mode with limited access to apps and content. For example, a parent can set up profiles for each family member, and a business manager can set up profiles that keep employees focused on work.

Built-in Security Protection. Android is designed to keep you and your data safe. Every app runs in its own sandbox, a secure space isolated from other apps. And whenever you download an app, Android can automatically scan it for viruses, checking apps against a database maintained by Google.

Expandable, Actionable Notifications. Android has always put you in control when it comes to staying notified and connected. Just swipe down from the top of the screen to see all your notifications in one place. Late for a meeting or missed a call? Take action in an instant directly from the notifications shade.

Smooth Operator. More reactive and uniform touch responses mean you can almost feel the pixels beneath as your finger moves across the screen. .

Live in the Now. With Google Now, you get the right information at just the right time -- before you even ask. It can tell you today's weather before you start your day, or when the next train will arrive as you're standing on the platform. .

Smarter Keyboard with Gesture Typing. Just glide your finger over the letters you want to type, and lift after each word. You don't have to worry about spaces because they're added automatically for you.

Beam Photos and Videos. With Android Beam, you can easily share your photos and videos.

As a fan of large screen phones, my wife asked me to contrast these types of devices. She was a current user of the Samsung Note lines, so the standard was set pretty high. This was on the market, so I checked into it.

However, the best thing we could have done is give this beast a chance. It is a unique, fun phone. For those not familiar, The LG Flex uses a special type of material on the body and screen tech to allow for a curved device which "flexes" a small amount to give it a bit of durability. It also has a "self-healing" polymer material on the back, which small scratches disappear over time. Crafters have had this type of polymer on their crafting boards for years, where after they cut out paper or whatever they have measured out, the boards polymer material slowly fills back in the scratch from the cut to it's original design.

Do these advantages pay off? Well, this is a HUGE 6" device. The best thing about the curve is that is makes it actually easier to handle. More comfortable to hold then similar sized phones like the Note3 or the Nokia Lumia 1520, it is much easier to carry and use. The curve also makes watch media and playing games on it a joy. Something about the "theatre" feel about it makes it fun. My wife is a reader, and she feels the curve screen is also perfect for that.

The screen itself is nice- vibrant and colorful. details shine. One of the advantages of a large phone is that the internal antenna is also large, resulting in great reception. 4G/LTE signals are held onto tightly, and call/texting signals are never lost. Call quality is fine, and the curve feel helps with the comfort of a phone call. Notice I said "help".

I'm reviewing the phone here and not the service. I LOVE this phone. Its got a powerful 2.6GHz quad core processor(Galaxy S5 has a 2.5GHz processor), 2gb ram, 32gb storage and a huge, 6" flexible screen. Apparently a lot of know-it-all's believe the curved screen on this phone is just a gimmick. My experience is different. I love the way text scrolls down the curved screen, and watching movies on it(after all, the screen is just shy of a 7" tablet!) is pretty cool with the curved screen(playing games on it is great too!). It kind of pulls you in more. Its hard to explain but its much nicer than viewing media on a flat screen phone. Also, the screen isn't just curved, it flexes a little. Now a phone screen that FLEXES(even a little) IS innovative! Up until the LG G Flex, a few phones have been made with "curved glass", but NOT a flexible screen(Or a flexible battery!!). Try to "flex" a phone with curved glass(even a little) and see what happens! So, a screen that will give(a surprising amount) without cracking if sat on by someone very heavy, and a phone that will fall on its edges instead of its screen if dropped, and a phone with a "self healing back" makes for a pretty tough phone. The only con I think you could realistically give this phone is that its screen resolution isn't as high as other high end phones. On the other hand, it isn't low enough for me, personally, to notice a difference. If you like large phones(and not everyone does), you definitely need to consider the G Flex. The technical specs are right up there with the Galaxy S5. The only thing I wish that the G Flex had that the S5 has is expandable storage.

PS: Ive read that the G Flex is basically a concept phone.

If you are really set on buying a phablet, then this review may be of value to you. Otherwise if you are looking for a nice normal size phone for the money, perhaps you might want to look hard at the Samsung S5.

I've had this phone for about 6 weeks and quite glad I purchased it. Prior to this phone, I owned the Note 2 for about 9 months and then switched to the Mega 6.3 for about 6 month before switching over to the LG Flex. As far as phablets go, I think this phone hits the sweet spot as far as sizes go. It has a big display to make web browsing a joy but still maintains a reasonable width and weight to provide good handling ergonomic, and yet keeping the benefit of a larger display. And this phone has a GREAT display.

The Flex uses a Plastic Organic LED display which has REALLY dark blacks. Darker than most other phones on the market and perhaps even the Samsung S5. Texts are really pleasant to read because of the deep blacks, which translates to lower eye fatigue if you have to look at your phone for an extended amount of time. The pixels from the 720P screen really don't present any problems as far as real life visual experiences go, unless you have the phone less than a feet from your face. There is a slight grainy quality to the display when viewing white backgrounds so you have to decide how much this bothers you.

As for the screen burn-in issue that some have mentioned about, I absolutely haven't experience it over the past 6 weeks of use. My guess is I will not see it with my phone, given that people who experienced it said they saw it almost immediately after they first used their phone. I'm thinking maybe it depends on the user settings, or perhaps some phones are susceptible and some are not.
