LG's HBS-200 Bluetooth Stereo Headset offers an affordable way to stream music wirelessly from a cell phone embedded with the Bluetooth stereo music streaming profile. It also serves double duty as a communication headset, allowing you to take calls without having to take the headphones off. Stylishly and ergonomically designed with an around-the-neck profile, it conveniently folds for easy storage.

All play controls are conveniently located on the right earpiece.
The HBS-200 has a sturdy, flexible rubber band that connects the two 2-inch earpieces, and it can be stretched or minimized for just the right size. All controls reside on the right earpiece, and they include a play/pause/stop button in the middle, volume controls on top, and a control on the outside border of the earpiece that allows you to shuttle between songs.

The center of the headset also includes a silver power/talk button (with a phone icon), which you can use to answer incoming calls. You can also access the headset's voice-activated dialing and last-number redial features by pressing the power/talk button first. You can also mute a call by pressing the volume down button. Pairing the HBS-200 headset is a breeze, and a status indicator on the headset will blink blue every 3 seconds once it's connected.

Unfolded, the HBS-200 offers a comfortable around-the-neck profile.
The HBS-200 provides up to 10 hours of talk time, 8 hours of continuous music playback, and 250 hours of standby time. A status indicator on the headset will blink red when the battery is running low, prompting you to plug in the included charger. The headset fully charges in approximately 3 hours.

Note: Your cell phone must be embedded with the Bluetooth A2DP stereo music streaming profile in order to wirelessly listen to audio.

Customer Reviews

Did so and sure enough, got the headset back with a note stating customer abuse, return as-is.

My left piece broke and I tried to glue it back together, but the plastic was so brittle and was cracked in many places therefore gluing was not an option.

This would have been a 4-star review, except that they are now useles because the headband snapped.

In short, great performance, exceptional sound quality and range -
BUT
poor construction, agree with other reviews: broke at plastic joint of ear piece to head band; and I am careful with my equipment! LG returned headset to me unrepaired with note "customer abuse, return as is'. So in the trash, as they would no longer work. Also found them to fit poorly - kept getting knocked out of position by coat, scarf, or jacket.

I purchased these on Wednesday. I went out to the car to take a look see at them and they were broken! So I went and got an exchange. I used the new pair that night. I adored the sound...very clear with a bit of dropping, but that was okay. I took them off and they were broken in the exact same spot. I was so pissed off. I was none too pleased to say the least. I also have to admit that where they sit on the head isn't comfortable. So no, I cannot recommend.

Stereo music quality is good, but I've had problems with phone calls and these headphones. I've seen reviews where people said call quality is good, but in my experience the other end has had problems hearing me even when I'm in a quiet environment.

My headphones did recently break after about 7 months. I'm not sure exactly when because I hadn't used them in a while. I was going to take them to work with me and I noticed that one of the earpieces broke at the joint where the rubber head cushion meets the plastic near the hinge.

I don't care about looking like a dork, so I just taped the two ends back together as best I could. They're not "as good as new" but at least I can wear and use them! I taped the unbroken side for reinforcement. Why trash a good pair of headphones that I paid too much money for just because they're "broken"? Fix them!

Would I buy them again? Not for the original price! Maybe for < $50 like they are now.

Tell me something, what is the purpose of headphones? To provide quality music which you can hear and which will not bother others. At $50, this set can't even do that. The sound from music from an LG Venus is about a 6 out of 10. Calls and other phone sounds are about a 3 out of ten. What is by far the worst though is that people 20 feet away (perhaps farther) can hear very clearly what is eminating from your headset. The sound will be a distraction to your neighbors in just about every setting. So places where you would most often use them (the library, the airplane etc.) you actually won't be able to without bugging people, and no one wants that.

The plastic controls are pretty cheap too. I have no idea why these cost any more than ten dollars, but I woulnd't even pay that much for them.

Headset broke in the same spot as other people in less than a month. Right where the headset rests on the ear. Poor design. Called LG, first person said that I could return it, but that it would be sent right back to me because the damage was physical. Talked to a manager and she said to send it in. Did so and sure enough, got the headset back with a note stating customer abuse, return as-is. I was lied to by the manager who probably just wanted me off the phone. (added another $5 to the cost) This is unacceptable for a product that cost over $100 originally.

Button controls seemed fine and battery life was good. It did create a whine in the background when playing sound and was slightly uncomfortable though. If it had held together it would have been acceptable, but not great.

Bottom-line - A product that doesn't last a month of normal use is not a product at all. I am now very reluctant to recommend any LG products. Maybe look at the Jabra BT620s instead.

I would have to agree with the other reviewers....if you are looking for quality, these are not the headphones for you. I got mine paired with the Samsung Juke Phone from Verizon so they were the only option I had. Mine have broken by the ear piece on BOTH sides for no aparent reason. They are now held together with super glue and duck tape. The battery doesnt hold a charge worth a damn. Being fair, the sound is good, although I have nothing to compare it with...the controls on the heaphones work just fine...if that's a plus...all in all, I 'd say they arent worth a squirt of urine.....

the hbs-200 headphones worked great for 10 days before they broke bilaterally at the exact same place with the exact same fracture pattern. Please do not buy these headphones, too many people have had this problem, and it has nothing to do with excessive handling. Simply by waring them will cause this damage. Verizon wouldn't replace them even with an extended warranty because they "looked physically abused". Aside from this major issue they were a great set of head phones for the 6 times I wore them.

I received this as a Christmas gift, and so far, it works like a charm. This headset is lightweight, and it rests comfortably on the earlobes. The phones can be folded back for easy carriage in a good-sized pocket. Pairing with my LG Muziq went smoothly, and sound is of great quality, both indoors and out. Phone calls also work very well, as persons on the other end hear me just fine. The buttons are also well-placed and well-designed, as each has a distinctive shape so a function isn't accidentally activated. Overall, this headset should fit most needs.
