NOT Heavy Duty - Regular Dish Washing Gloves,
This review is from: LG HD Teal Rubber Glove
The "Heavy Duty" in the title of this on-line item misrepresents these gloves. These are NOT heavy duty gloves, they are simply long cuff dishwashing gloves. If you go to the Rubbermaid website and put this style number in, you will see what the manufacturer Rubbermaid has to say about them - nothing about heavy duty. And that is exactly what I got - nothing heavy duty. There is nothing on the packaging that says these are heavy duty, nothing on the manufacture website either. I purchased these thinking they were gong to be Heavy Duty cleaning gloves as the descriptions states - Beware they are not.

This is kinda low on my priority list, but deserves a review just like everything else.
1. The gloves are lined so they don't stick together. 2. Mine (unlike the reviewer above this) are a light blue--about two shades lighter than the picture. Pretty close to the same shade of blue as the start light on my computer. (or the same shade as the people pc icon on my monitor). 3. They seem to work just fine. 4. I'm a five foot six inch man, I always thought I had talented fingers (not thick)...the gloves fit me barely loose. They should fit a female loose. Any big guy might find them just slightly snug. 5. The finger tips go about a quarter inch beyond my fingers. I recommend them simply because I find no short comings. They do work. CONS: 1. I put about 7 coins on a smooth, slick, countertop. It was a little awkward to pick them up but I found it slightly awkward to pick them up without the gloves on to--unless I put a fingernail under them--everything else was pretty easy. So, this isn't really a con. Finally, I knew that number 12 on the name didn't stand for 12 sets of gloves, but I just thought to mention to everybody--it is just one set of gloves.

#1. These are NOT "teal." They are a very deep, dark navy blue. #2. There is NO cotton lining. Don't order these gloves unless you want them despite these inaccuracies.

These definitely do not seem like anything special - they're just regular dishwashing-type gloves by Rubbermaid. I bought them to use when emptying the tanks on our RV. I'm sure you can pick them up at a store for the same or lower price. I won't be ordering them on Amazon again.

These are great gloves because they are longer than normal. They are definitely not heavy duty, though. They are pretty normal weight/thickness gloves. And, they fit my hands well, better than most that are labeled or described similarly. I am on my second pair. Unfortunately, in my search for them, I learned Rubbermaid has discontinued their production.

These Rubbermaid gloves are exactly what I've been hunting for! The other "popular" brand of cleaning/dish-washing gloves don't come up my arm far enough so soapy water gets inside; they also are thin and easily torn. These Rubbermaid gloves are tougher and the perfect fit for me (large, long). I like the purple color too.

good gloves. I would definitely recommend them for general household cleaning and dish washing.

I won't debate one way or the other, just a warning...,

I have purchased several of these types of gloves including this model. After a short time, the fabric inside inevitable gets wet. There is no way to remove the lining, so it stays wet, which feels nasty on the hands.
The lining then begins to stink because it remains wet. Then it starts to really stink. Then your hands start to stink every time you use them. Then...you throw them in the garbage. If you get these, plan on wearing another pair of gloves inside them, because after a dozen uses they feel real gross. I think these would be a great idea if they could come up with a way to clean them inside. I tried turning them inside out and that was not only a chore that took more time than the gloves are worth, it only solved the problem for a day or so. |
