I watch a lot of DVD's and just recently I decided to buy a home theater system. The high end home theaters are too much for my wallet so I looked around for the home theater in a box. I saw the LG LGDVT418 and loved it. It comes with 4 floor standing speakers, instead of 4 small ones that you have to find a table to sit them on. The subwoofer gives enough "oomph" for all the medias that could play on the DVD, including DVDs, audio CDs, and even MP3 CDs. Overall this is a great bargain for anyone who wants a home theater/DVD player but not the home theater price.

I have only listened to this unit at Circuit City. At 600W, it has plenty of power for a smaller living room, which is where its going. I spent about an hour listening to it, sitting at different levels and whatnot. It sounds good. I didn't get a chance to play with all the settings for it, but I felt like it would last for a couple of years. I also got the CityAdvantage plan, which covers blowouts if I go a little crazy, which I might. I will write another review after I get it set up and broken it.

I purchased this system about a year ago from CC. before buying this unit i was considering Sony, Panasonic and Samsung, but when i went to the store and listened to the sound that this unit could produce i was sold. i live in a Town House and i have this unit set up in my basement. i have to keep my sub into -ve because anything near "0" wakes up my neighbor. :) the system got strong base and clear sound. if you can still find this home theatre system, i will say dont think just buy it.
