Great TV But Not Perfect,

I think that the LG PK750 is a wonderful television. It comes with great features such as Netflix and Vudu video streaming. This is one of the best looking televisions on the market. The glass on the TV covers the whole front including the edge frame. Looks somewhat like a MacBook Pro screen. Picture quality is about average for a plasma television. Black levels are good, but there is still room for improvement. I wish that LG could have worked more on eliminating screen glare. I also wish that the screen was a little brighter. If the screen was brighter then it would have helped with downgrading screen glare. In addition, the press release from LG released in January 2010 states that this television will come with the TruBlack filter, however, the specs on the website do not list this feature. After having numerous top of the line televisions, I like this LG television because of its unique look.Amazon's service was once again wonderful. Thank you Amazon for great customer service. 4.18.2010 - The television has developed a somewhat loud intermittent buzzing sound that can sometimes be very annoying. I have lowered my rating for the product.

If I purchased this TV based on the current information available, both on Amazon and LG's website, I might give this TV a better review. That being said, I am extremely disappointed that I researched and reviewed and came to the conclusion that this TV was the best purchase for me based on advertised features. Those features that were advertised, but not really available were the TruBlack filter as well as Skype availability and being 'wireless internet ready'. When I contacted LG about the false information available, all they told me was 'sorry'. Both Amazon and LG's websites have been updated to include only the correct information.Besides those facts, I must say that I am pleasantly surprised at the picture quality. I am now into approximately hour 120 or so and the quality is very impressive. I spent time with the picture 'display' menu to tweak the picture and I LOVE it. The menu is very easy to use. Set up was simple. The TV looks very impressive. We do not have it wall mounted. It is so sleek and slim that it takes up much less room on my stand than our previous TV. Haven't used the internet connection yet, because I'm waiting on the required LG only wi-fi dongle. (big disappointment there) Wished I could give it rave reviews. I wanted to love this TV. I spent lots of time researching, pouring over reviews, specs, etc. only to find that this isn't the TV I thought I was getting. Bottom line, GREAT price for a good picture, very large screen, and lots of features. Update.... Received the LG wi-fi dongle. Not very easy to set that thing up. I couldn't get it to connect to my network that was security enabled. I was able to enter the network key, but it wouldn't connect unless I disabled the security. After disabling the security temporarily to utilize the NetCast features, we loved them! VUDU movies were unbelievable!!! We watched several HD movies through VUDU instantly. The picture and sound was UNBELIEVABLE. No waiting. Movies played with no 'stopping' to catch up. Picture was PERFECT. My only complaint about Netflix was the fact that you couldn't browse the Netflix available movies. The only thing available (unlike when you use Wii or Playstation to view Netflix) is your Now Playing Queue. NetCast was easy to use and our favorite was VUDU. LOVE that feature. Disappointed about the lack of Pandora. Disappointed about the difficulty in setting up the wireless dongle. Still overall pleased with this purchase!!! Update (2/16/11).... Now that I'm connected to the internet via the WiFi Dongle, I have updated the streaming features and love the connection. I can connect to Netflix (great new interface), VuDu, CinemaNow, YouTube, and Yahoo widgets. Had a Super Bowl XLV party and guests loved the picture quality and wanted specifics about the brand/model of TV. Very pleased with the purchase!

I've had this TV for about a week now -- for the money, I feel this might be the best tv out there. This tv was purchased from a fulfillment by Amazon deal, for under $1,450.00 -- now we're talkin the newest model Infinia plasma, and 60" at that! Sure, there might be better tvs out there, but in this size, you'd be paying close to a $1K or more. As for the TV iself: Coming from and 9 year old projection screen Toshiba, the picture quality, in a dark setting, in Blu ray or an HD source program is simply breathtaking! Some nature programs in HD are mindblowingly clear and vivid -- it's that good...mind you I'm not a super duper picture analyzing person...I just know what looks good to my eyes and it looks really good. I am a picky person in general and would notice if the picture was poor, but it's just not the case. TV is in a very bright room, light all day and yes, there is glare -- some programs (dark ones) might be difficult to view during peak sun hours. However, in my case, the TV usually isn't watched until after 5pm when we're back from work, etc, and by that time, the picture is fine. If you're very particular about glare, this might be the only real negative that I can find. It's pretty bad, but then again, it's still better than than my old projection tv in this regard. CNET noted the bright room performance of this plasma isn't that great, and I can see that being the case. But if the room is in a darker setting, the picture is very bright, contrasty, and well saturated. Colors are deep and vivid. Black levels are very good for me -- I suppose they could be measurely better, but most likely not at this price point. Settings are numerous...wireless works properly. No problems with 24p Blu ray material, etc. Picture is smooth and fluid. Unit runs a bit hot on top back panel, but not too bad -- can't notice any heat, unless you're more than a foot away. As for buzz, there is a low buzz emitted at the top back panel near the edges (I think) -- you can't really hear it until about a foot from the tv (and really from the back), otherwise, you can't really notice. In a silent room, I have to strain to hear it (if that's even what I'm hearing); wth the HT system on, you definately can't notice anything. Aesthetically, I feel this TV is at the very top of the long list of TVs out there -- it's just plain beautiful in its simple, single glass pane desgin -- LG's are some of the very best looking TVs in general -- at about 2" in depth, it's very impressive... All in all -- I'm very pleased and looking forward to a long time watching this beauty. I'll post an update if anything goes wrong with the set, etc, but hopefully, all will be smooth sailing. Best bang for the buck in my book!

I purchased this TV from Adorama through Amazon on Cyber Monday, took a little over a week to arrive, then a few days later the picture simply stopped working altogether. After spending about an hour on phone with LG support, I was told the TV required service, somewhat disconcerting for a TV with less than 5 hours of actual use. It turns out, despite the almost immediate failure Adorama doesn't accept returns on any TV over 17" (essentially every TV or Monitor).I am told by the service technician LG contracts through for repairs that the issue is fairly common with the LG plasma, usually it is one of two components which commonly fail. It is somewhat self evident that LGs commitment to quality control is lacking if there is a cost benefit to routinely repair failing parts (which may not fail during warranty) rather than to have higher quality components and assembly from the outset. Had I known LG used unreliable electronics, I would have avoided LG all together and gravitated toward Panasonic which I knew to have a very solid reputation for quality construction and superior picture but was a less aesthetically pleasing design. That being said, avoid purchasing through Adorama or other vendor that does not have Amazon's TV delivery guarantee and simply avoid LG, stick with Panasonic or Samsung if quality and reliability are important to you. I chose LG because of the "sleek" look, not because of the better picture or established reputation; the higher degree of acceptable failure makes for an unreliable TV. I plan to update my post with the total time of unviewable days relative to the time I purchased it (which, as the warranty dictates, is from the date of purchase, not date of delivery). So far it has been 10 days viewable vs 14 days unviewable. Second Post: It has been an additional 10 days and the part still has not been replaced, I have not been able to use this TV for 25 of 34 days. Third Post - January 10, 2011 still not repaired repair group is hoping for delivery of a new Plasma Panel target date sometime this week. The first batch of malfunctioning parts DID were not the only parts which failed, now the entire plasma screen along with the corrleating electronics are being replaced. The downside being that these are invariably FACTORY refurbished componenents from other failed televsions. Very discouraging experience, this TV only worked for 10 days out of 49 so far. Don't purchase from a vendor like Adorama that doesn't accept returns, Don't purchase a LG monitor.

Great picture-while it lasts,
This review is from: LG INFINIA 60PK750 60-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV with Internet Applications (Electronics)
Picked this TV up in October. Brought it home. TV has a great look, easy setup, and with just a few tweaks, an amazing picture. Sooo incredibly happy with the TV...until 39 days in, when it completely stopped working. No sound, no picture, nothing. LG was great on the phone and offered a service to repair it immediately. Later found out I would be waiting a week and a half for them to come out. I wasn't willing to have a TV that I just bought repaired, so after some arguing with the store, I received a full exchange. Great, switched out the TV, loved the picture, fantastic with gaming systems...until exactly 39 days later when the exact same thing happened again. I am taking it back today, and I will not be coming home with an LG product again.

Incredible Picture No Major Issues,

Did the the ridiculous level of research and narrowed it down to LG & Samsung plasma. Have a wide long room requiring many viewing angles. The TV itself is setting on an corner stand. The view is spectacular from all angles. BUT have had issues with the very top line of the screen. While watching the news NBCHD I will occasionally see very thin white lines at the top of the screen. Not sure if its TV or broadcast related. Watched Avatar via Blue-Ray using cheap HDMI cables. The whole family was blown away at the picture quality.Overall is very happy. Sound great without buzzing. Must use degaussing magnet on power cord. Seem to have more Internet functionality through a cheap ($100) LG blue-ray than TV.

After reading many reviews and after looking at many tv's, I finally decided on this set. The only TV's that I saw that looked a bit better were made by Panasonic...of course, those were on average $1000 more for the same features. I had a pretty good price on Amazon, added it to the cart, and bought it. I had just signed up to Prime and received free two-day shipping...yay me! The next day, I see it on another website for cheaper! WTH? I go to look for the 'I found it cheaper' button on my invoice and it's not there...I send an e-mail to Amazon in which I give them the link to the cheaper set and the price difference and cross my fingers. The next day I get an e-mail that they will honor the price difference and promptly refunded me the difference of almost $300. You can't beat it at about $1300 less than a Panny display. Woohoo for me! They arrived the same day, took it out of the box and placed on my console where I wanted it. I plug everything in and it looks magnificent! This is one of the best images I have seen on a TV! The first thing that I watched was a nature show on Green Planet in full HD and I was blown away...some of the scrolling panoramas were making me a little dizzy from the size of the TV...mind you, my last TV was a 50-inch plasma so it's not like I wasn't used to some size...but the clarity of the visual was stunning. I played around with the settings, even using the Expert mode (I have some experience tweaking TV's and monitors) but settled on the Cinema(THX) setting which gave me the best picture, and was very similar to what I had chosen in Expert Mode anyway...I heard alot of people complain about the reflective glass but I have a very well lit room and I don't notice this at all, maybe because I was used to the previous plasma tv. I invited my family over to watch the basketball games on Xmas day and everyone was blown away. Sports is the main reason why I wont buy an LCD. The TV looks very good during daylight hours and extraordinarily awesome during the night hours when all the lights are out, which is what you get with most TV's. Really, the only negative thing I have to say about this TV is that I can't default the picture to always be set to 16:9, it keeps changing back to Full Scan, which can sometimes give me the white edges on certain sources but this is quickly remedied. I am hoping that a future update will take care of this. I set this up on my wireless router and I connect to the internet with no problem. Netflix doesn't look great but when has it ever? Vudu and CinemaNow on the other hand, wow! Also, I have a Blu-ray player that plays in 24p and the TV instantly recognizes the signal and displays it as such. I think the negative reviews on here about that are due to people wanting to watch this material where the sharpness is set way too high and expect to see that on this TV but my TV displays 24p just fine. My wife and kids are tired of hearing me say this, but I love this TV!

This Plasma TV is outstanding. I have done a lot of research before purchasing this set and the reviews I think are slightly underated. The black is great, the glare is not as bad as made out and the TV is easy to setup. We really like the design and functionality. We purchased a LG 580 BluRay Player to match, so you only need one remote to work both.I definately would recommend this TV to everyone. Great value for the price. Couldn't be more happy.

This TV is big and beautiful, hangs on our wall with no wires showing. However, the one issue I have with it: I can run Netflix easily from the TV options. But If I do this, the sound only comes from the TV. I can't get the surround sound to work with it when it runs Netflix. So I end up having to run Netflix from the blue-ray surround sound theater system. The irony is that one of the reasons I chose this TV is because it has the capability to run Netflix, yet now I never use that option because the sound is lousy.

I purchased the LG Infinia 60PK750 over six months ago. I wanted to wait to write a review so the new could wear off and I could give an unbiased review. To be perfectly honest I'm just as happy with this TV as I was when I opened the box! The TV itself looks quite beautiful, and not as bulky as many other plasma TVs out there. A solid glass panel covering the whole front and no buttons (since it's touch sensitive) make for a very streamline, sleek looking product. When purchasing a TV of this size you have to take those things into consideration since its size makes it a focal point. As for the performance, I have been extremely happy. I play PS3, 360, Wii, Blueray and HD all the time and have never had any qualms with its refresh rate or pixel density. All the football games have been at my house and my friends can't believe the clarity on such a big TV for the price I paid. This TV is a no brainer, it's been crisp, clear, there is NO pixilation on fast moving scenes, its sound is adequate and it looks sexy! I would buy this TV all over again in a heartbeat!
