Not the best LG product I have purchased,
By
This review is from: LG LDF6920ST Fully Integrated Dishwasher with 5 Wash Cycles, 3 Spray Arms, SenseClean System, Delay Start, Food Disposer and Self-Clean Filter: Stainless Steel
We bought this stainless steel dishwasher about a month ago. I loved the look and the price, along with its touted quality. After many uses, however, I am not very impressed. I hope that with a different detergent I will get better results.
Pros: -it's pretty. -you can put a lot of plates in it. -it's very quiet. -it has lots of timing options. -it has a cool sounding ding when you press the buttons (which are hidden: an added pro). -price, considering its appearance. -built-in garbage disposal. (I do feel that this is somewhat misleading, since if you put your dishes in with that much food on them, the likelihood of them coming out clean is low.) Cons: -I have only used one detergent in it (Electrasol Advanced), but have repeated trouble with unclean dishes, even when using the power scrub setting. Granted, I am putting knives coated in peanut butter in the dishwasher, but considering the brand and price, I think this is not unreasonable. The knives generally come out streaky and I have to scrub them and rewash. Ceramic plates seem to come out fine (plastic children's ones not so much, for some reason - more caked-on PB?), but I have trouble with cutlery and anything that had food stuck to it. -the top rack does not adjust. -the bottom rack, when pulled out all the way (like "normal" all the way, not "on the floor" all the way), ALWAYS comes off track and you have to fight with it to get it back in the dishwasher. This is perhaps my biggest pet peeve about this dishwasher. -when opened, the handle rests on the floor. Mildly annoying, except when your foot happens to be in its path. -due to the poor wash quality, I almost always have to use the power scrub setting. -it seems that the wash cycle takes FOREVER. I realize I am using the power scrub setting, but really. My old Kenmore did not take nearly as long, and cleaned better. I can't believe I am saying this about a Sears product.

Wonderful Dishwasher!!!!,

After reading so many negative reviews about this dishwasher, I had to double check mine to make sure they were talking about the same dishwasher. I am not sure what the problem is.
First of all, the dishwasher's appearance is beautiful and matches my other stainless appliances very well. It cleans very well, uses less water and detergent, and my dishes come out spotless!!! Some negative reviews had mentioned that the dishes came out wet since there is no heating element. My dishes come out "piping" hot and dry just as if there is a heating element in the bottom of the dishwasher, but without the worry of melting plastic items that might fall through the racks. This dishwasher is so quiet, I hardly notice that it is running. I only notice it when I first turn it on when the water is running, even then it is very silent. This dishwasher is full of options yet very simple to operate. I am so pleased with this dishwasher, I would definitely buy it again and recommend it to anybody looking for a good deal. UPDATE 5/26/2010: I have used this dishwasher now for a few months and it is still working for us great!! My family runs at least one load per day and the dishes still come out spotless. I have noticed that when it runs out of rinse aid, that the dishes tend to come out spotty. RECOMMENDATION: Keep your rinse aid topped off!!! There is a handy sensor on the display that lets you know when it is running low. A previous reviewer said that the built in garbage disposal is misleading since you have a lesser chance of getting clean dishes if you leave food on them. Wrong. There is also a built-in soil sensor that detects this and adjusts the wash accordingly. Still loving this product from LG!!!

Run, screaming, away from this dishwasher! (Just MY Opinion!),

This review has nothing to do with Amazon.. it is strictly about the LG LDF7932ST dishwasher and the experience we've had with it.
We acutally purchased it from a very well-known company that sells appliances. We purchased this to replace our GE Profile that was recalled (for a potential fire hazard issue). We (thought) we hated that GE dishwasher.. really loud, steam hole spouting up from the top, falling apart inside, two motor replacements, you name it - and now, it was a fire hazard. If I could find it in the dump heap and re-install it in place of this LG, I would! Things we like: It's quiet - really quiet - I love this about it. It plays nice little "tunes" (my daughter thinks that's creepy) It looks good from the outside It looks good from the inside (the first day). mmmmm...thinking... thinking.. nah.. that's it. Things we're not crazy about: Control panel: inside on the top of the door. This seemed to be the trend with a lot of the new dishwashers. OK if you don't want to see it, but we prefer the controls on the outside, we've learned! The ODOR: It STINKS! This is the real deal-breaker for us. The first few times we ran it, I thought it was just "new dishwasher smell", but it smells so bad when it is washing.. it stinks up the whole kitchen / family room area. Like a mix of hot, detergenty, dirty, thick water. We use the same detergent & rinse agent that we used with our GE, but I can say that the GE machine NEVER smelled... Only normal, fresh, clean, smell. To this day, I keep coming in saying.. "what's that odor?".. and the kids reply.. "oh, it's just the dishwasher". The pump is fine.. there is no residual water in the bottom, so it's not stagnant water anywhere (that we know of), but the thing just smells REALLY BAD. I thought having the stainless steel interior somehow would make things even "cleaner".. but well.. The cleaning: In my opinion, it does NOT clean very well. Take advice from the previous reviewer that said that it was wise to use the rinse agent. Otherwise, there is a definite haze over the dishes, and even tons of residue streaks on the inside stainless door that are left from the liquid diswashing detergent as it comes out of it's little panel door. That said, when the rinse agent is used, they do come out a bit cleaner, but honestly, not as clean as the old GE.. we thought this might improve with time (somehow), but along with the awful smell it leaves, it just leaves the dishes smelly and not feeling clean. :( The detergent door: Not an earth shattering issue, just a note. Instead of every other dishwasher I've owned, where you twist the detergent door closed, this one has to flip up, popping open toward the inside of the dishwasher.. so, once, when my daughter put a cookie sheet or other pan (can't recall) in the front of the bottom shelf, and ran the dishwasher, the detergent door was too close and couldn't flip open, so, we had to wash again after re-arranging the pans. If the detergent door could twist open, it wouldn't have been an issue. Not sure why they went with that flip open design. Racks: As for an earlier review description of the rack versatility, that is very accurate, and there is a lot of flexibility there. We've never had a problem with them going off the track. They seem nice and sturdy, and stay where you put them. For some reason, our old GE had a bottom rack that would roll back in by itself.. we would have to hold it out to fill it. Personally, though, I think that the rung/prong angles are just a bit strange (some tilt outward like a "\/" shape instead of straight up "|") and I find it difficult to throw a pot on top because it won't go straight down over the rungs.. I'm not crazy about it, but then again, there's not much about this dishwasher that I do like. We will be replacing it - if anyone wants one, free.... ; )

Crappy machine crappier service,
This review is from: LG LDF6920ST Fully Integrated Dishwasher with 5 Wash Cycles, 3 Spray Arms, SenseClean System, Delay Start, Food Disposer and Self-Clean Filter: Stainless Steel
By far the worst appliance I have ever owned in 40+ years. Flat out smells like garbage and when you call support, you get the run around. Looks pretty, works quiet, but performs terribly and smells to high heaven. Never experienced anything quite like it. Calls to support suggested running lemon juice in the machine to make it smell better. When that didn't work they simply dropped the calls while putting me on hold or told me that it was an installation error. Believe all these negative reviews and stay away from LG dishwashers!

Don't bother with this one!,

This dishwasher worked fine - for the first 4 months. Then it started to leak from the bottom of the door. Three attempts to fix the machine were unsuccessful. Finally had to return the machine and get a Maytag. Further research revealed that this model has a history of leaking. This may have something to do with the fact that LG places the vent at the bottom of the dishwasher. Having the vent at the bottom looks good as the vent is not visible, but is not very good for your floor especially if you have hardwoods. As far as cleaning goes, it performed mediocre at best. Do your research on this model and I think you will decide to look elsewhere.

Buying this dishwasher was a huge mistake,
By
This review is from: LG LDF6920ST Fully Integrated Dishwasher with 5 Wash Cycles, 3 Spray Arms, SenseClean System, Delay Start, Food Disposer and Self-Clean Filter: Stainless Steel
This dishwasher functions as nothing more than an expensive sterilizer. Forget LG's claim that you don't have to scrape dishes: I have to actually wash dishes clean before loading them because (1) besides not removing any food particles, the heat also "bakes" any particles into my dishes, and/or (2) a fine grit covers my dishes, even when using a gel detergent. We purchased our dishwasher in July 6,2010 and I noticed right away that dishes weren't coming clean. I spent the first three months working my way through the user's manual and trying various detergents before finally calling LG. During the first service visit it was determined that the bottom spray arm wasn't working; the part was ordered and two weeks later replaced. However, the problem with dishes not coming clean continues, even after four service visits. LG's customer service is AWFUL. There's not enough space here to go into the details, but suffice it to say that I'll NEVER purchase another LG. The latest aggravation came today when an LG engineer blamed the poor performance on the government banning the use of phospates in cleaners. Frustrated. Aggravated. Mad. Life is NOT good.

A Cautionary Tale,
By
This review is from: LG LDF6920ST Fully Integrated Dishwasher with 5 Wash Cycles, 3 Spray Arms, SenseClean System, Delay Start, Food Disposer and Self-Clean Filter: Stainless Steel
I have owned this for almost four years (which I think is a world record for an LG dishwasher). Four long, problem ridden years. My model was actually the 7811 (which is about the same as the one pictured). The first thing is when the dishwasher is finished it makes a dingy noise that sounds ominous, like the theme song to Jaws (dumm dum, dumm dum). We thought it was cute and funny in the beginning, but now I think the engineers were trying to tell us something.
A few months after plunking down over $1000 to buy this dishwasher, the pump broke, it was 3 1/2 WEEKS before it was fixed! I went through Christmas and New Years without a dishwasher, that was fun! One thing I should point out, LG does not have a handy supply of parts, when something breaks they make the part and then ship it from South Korea, apparently by steamer tramp and mule train. Yeah so, there was a lot of hand washing going on at our house. The following year it started getting louder and louder and making the weirdest noises during the wash cycle; like it was grinding my dishes into powder, every time I ran it I thought "this is it, its going to die". One nice thing, if there were guests over I would have it running, it was definitely a conversation starter. It usually kicked off with the statment "I think your cat is stuck in the washer". My husband would take it apart and clean it but it started making the sounds again. Also it never quite got the glasses and cups very clean the whole time that I owned it, we have gotten into the habit of rinsing a cup out before using it. Last year we got an error code and found that some wires inside of the door had melted together, my husband fixed them himself because it was 1) quicker and 2) not under warranty anymore. The last straw happened 4 weeks ago. the soap was not being used and was in a sticky blob on the door. After looking around we found that the gaskets (there are three of them) were almost gone. We ordered new ones and put them in and then a week later it started to leak all over the floor, like an old incontinent dog. So after doing a LOT of research we are replacing it with a Kenmore Elite 1396.

If you want clean dishes, don't buy this!,

I don't appreciate over-emotionalized reviews, so I'll get to the points:
1. You have to SCRUB your dishes before you put them in the dishwasher 2. A wash cycle is 2 hours long 3. You can put a coffee cup on the bottom shelf face down and when you pull it out, the coffee is still in the bottom of the cup. (not kidding) 4. Your dishes don't come out dry (after a 2 hour cycle) 5. The bottom rack doesn't stay/move on its track; you can't just roll it back in. You have to lift it back in about 50% of the time 6. You are absolutely REQUIRED to use rinse aid if you have any hope of sort of clean dishes 7. LG dishwashers are hard (and expensive) to get serviced because few service providers work on LG. Don't buy this dishwasher if you want clean dishes! The only good thing about this dishwasher is the top shelf is spacious and it's pretty quiet.

LG lost my business,
By
This review is from: LG LDF6920ST Fully Integrated Dishwasher with 5 Wash Cycles, 3 Spray Arms, SenseClean System, Delay Start, Food Disposer and Self-Clean Filter: Stainless Steel
We bought this dishwasher less than 2 years ago from Home Depot after they highly recommended it. Big mistake! My real rating is 0 stars. We hold our breath each time we empty the "clean" dishes, hoping they really are clean. Usually not... We found if we use one particular, high-priced detergent packet, use the double rinsing and sterilizing feature, turn up our water heat, scrub dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, and hop on one leg during the wash cycle, it sometimes cleans the dishes. Not so energy efficient after all that! The biggest problem, however, is the motor. The machine was quiet for the first 3 months; then came the high-pitch squeal. The defective part was replaced under warranty. Exactly one year later, the same high-pitch squeal is back. The part is just under the two year warranty, but we would have to pay all labor costs. Since this appears to be an annual defect, we have to cut our losses on a dishwasher that is less than 2 years old. Unbelievable! Our LG refrigerator is another horrible story. I don't see how LG can get away with this, and I don't know why retailers are still selling their products.

WORST dishwasher I have ever owned! Too expensive to get nothing for the price!,
By
This review is from: LG LDF6920ST Fully Integrated Dishwasher with 5 Wash Cycles, 3 Spray Arms, SenseClean System, Delay Start, Food Disposer and Self-Clean Filter: Stainless Steel
This dishwasher looks pretty, sounds pretty (beautiful chimes), and as long as you use a rinse aid with the dishwasher...the dishes come out.....well....ok, and it is quiet while it is running. The deal breaker for me is the price, the stink, and the frustration it provides....why something this expensive is so STINKY and annoying....I will never know. I read reviews about this from consumer reports and I wish I had looked on Amazon. The door hits the ground and if you are lucky it doesn't hit your foot. The bottom rack goes off track ALL the time and I have to have a wrestling match to get it back on track. For the money....I am REALLY disappointed! And, I have to hold my nose every time I load it! YUCK!
