1.0 out of 5 stars LG should stay with TVs and leave the Refrigerators alone., February 11, 2011

Bought this frig at Home Depot just a little over a year ago...Big regrets. Looks nice, yet simple and the freezer does okay. Now for the bad: Refrigerator section on lowest setting (7) will only cool to mid to high 40s. We have moved all items from the center to allow for free air flow and that helped a bit but still couldn't get it into the 30s (close but no banana). If you live in areas such as Greenland or Siberia and are looking for something to keep your food and brewskies from freezing this might work for you. If you're looking for a good frig you might want to avoid this one (or any LG).

Update 2/20/11: My wife pointed out (with receipt in hand) that this box is still under warranty (bought in May 2010). That's the good news. I contacted LG personnel and that went well and I wasn't forever on hold (more good news). The bad: Service Tech came out, confirmed the temp was in mid 40s but was unsuccessful in making the repair. Talked to him later and he said LG recommended replacing some ducts...This is not looking good. Also: Consumer reports rates this refrigerator at the bottom of their list (and surprisingly a different model LG that is up at the top). Hindsight, ya got'a love it.

2nd. Update 7/29/11 New duct was installed. Temp got to the 30s (high 30s) and I let the warranty expire. Temp kept creeping up. Lowest temperature at lowest setting is now back to the mid to high 40s. We will replace this with another bottom freezer but not an LG.

1.0 out of 5 stars NEVER BUY A LG FRIG, February 17, 2011

I saw a video review of man who got a gun and took his LG refrigerator outside and started shooting holes through it. I thought "that will never happen to me" and in 2008, I bought an LG LBC22520 bottom-freezer refrigerator that has had continual problems. I would NEVER recommend.
The first one delivered never cooled. The second one delivered froze the fruits and vegetables had to be repaired (it had an air leak at the supply duct). Now we have trouble with ice build up in the freezer that stops the fan and everything shuts down-with a warm frig and freezer. This has happened four times in the last 10 months. We have paid almost $500 in repair bills.
It has been very frustrating and a lot of work unloading the warm frig, losing lots of food and time.
Now that I look online again, I am finding many people with this same problem. There are flaws with this model. LG service has been very difficult to deal with.

2.0 out of 5 stars quality problems, weak service, January 20, 2011

Bought this fridge less than two years ago. Runs quiet, looks agreeable, keeps things cold, spacious enough inside. Has this feature where it starts beeping if you leave the top or bottom door open more than 30 seconds.

A few months out from the warranty period, it starts beeping every 30 seconds - except both doors are shut. Nothing we do can make this stop. Unplugged it, kicked it, jiggle the switch inside, you name it. We've had LG authorized service out here to deal with this problem twice already, as we slowly go insane listen to this beeping every 30 seconds...but replacing the parts (as per the advice of LG) nothing helps. Finally we had the service guy rip out the alarm instead. Now, every third or fourth time I open the fridge, the light doesn't come on.

On the bright side, for the moment, it's still keeping things cold.

Wish I had googled around before buying this fridge - there is a wealth of forum postings and angry letters on the net from dissatisfied and regretful LG fridge buyers. I now count myself among them.
