First, unfortunately the first refrigerator came damaged - not evVive's fault, but the delivery company. However, evVive QUICKLY replaced the first refrigerator, and the second one had not a scratch on it. That was easily done.

We have only been using the refrigerator for 2 weeks, however, we can actually see a difference on our electric usage. It is absolutely as energy efficient as they say. If you are off the grid with alternative energy (we have solar), the nice thing about this is there is no super high drain with the compressor comes on - whatever they've done with the new compressor, it actually ramps up slowly. This is a must for off-the-grid energy systems, but a plus even if you're on the grid (your electric company would do well for EVERYONE to have a refrigerator like this).

This is almost as energy efficient as the refrigerators that are built for off the grid homes - but it was less than half the price of those others. For the dollar, this is really the best deal going.

Yes, this review was focused for solar/wind homes, but EVERYTHING applies even if you're on the grid. In addition to the energy efficiency, we have already gotten use to the french door style of refigerator (we had a side-by-side); the inside is roomy, well enough laid out. The freezer took a little getting used to.

Unfortunatly, I will say the shipping company they used was less than desirable - again, not their fault, and the shipping is probably less problematic in other parts of the county (better than here in Kansas, anyway).

4.0 out of 5 stars Tier III Energy Star French Door refrigerator/Freezer October 11, 2013
By Mike
We were looking for a replacement of our ten year old refrigerator which was very noisy. After researching the most energy efficient replacements, the LG LFC25776 seemed to fit our requirements, as it was rated as Tier III Energy Star. It uses exactly half the kilowatt-hours as our previous ten year old refrigerator.

Pros: The refrigerator and freezer sections are quite roomy. Aside from the high energy efficiency, the best aspect of the refrigerator section are the LED lights that are very bright, illuminating the interior. The compressor is very quiet. Compared to our last refrigerator, that banged and knocked loudly, the LG is extremely quiet. Also, the interior is a high quality with smoothly sliding bins and adjustable glass shelves. The large meat bin at the the bottom is the most useful one, even if it requires that both French doors be open to open it. The refrigerator doors have very thick foam insulation and that keeps door items cold. The temperature settings are displayed on the front of the refrigerator and the settings are accurate. There is a door alarm that goes off after about 30 seconds that is useful and necessary. The freezer section is large with two tub sections, with a nice pull out wire bin above the tubs and a smaller wire one on the door of the freezer that handles small boxes well.

Cons: There are a few aspects of the refrigerator and freezer that come up short. The main one is the spacing design of the plastic shelves on the French doors. The door bins are advertised to hold several gallon jugs, which is accurate. However, if more than a couple of gallons are stored in that door, there is no room for tall items on the remaining door bins.

So far so good. Quiet. Big. Like the door open alarm feature. Freezer at the bottom is great as it saves energy. Cold air stays in drawer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Favorite fridge! November 1, 2013

This is the best refrigerator I have ever had. It has an alarm if the door is left open, it cools perfectly to 34 degrees which is my optimal temp for beverages. The freezer on the bottom makes things more accessible and there seems to be more room in the top and the bottom so everything finally has a place to go instead of being shoved in on top of something else. Can't say enough good things about this fridge and all LG products!!!
