It should also curve inward instead of outward.

The water and ice dispenser could be improved but it's not a serious issue.

As others have mentioned, there are VERY few options for a 33 inch wide fully featured French Door Refrigerator. That being said, this was by far the best of the bunch. The GE Profile was much smaller and the Samsung has the ice and water apparatus on the left taking up an entire shelf. The design is actually intuitive. The LED lighting in the main compartment is excellent.
The stainless steel facade is nicely finished and the handles and water/ ice dispenser paddles are METAL not plastic.
The door bins are a little on the cheap side for a 2000+ unit but I see this on MOST of the brands.
I have only had this unit for a few weeks but after it settled in, the cooling and freezing are very even and stable. The fridge is very quiet. The water dispenser does take getting used to as it is very anterior (forward) in that area and takes a bit getting used to BUT this LG has a very TALL area for filling pitchers and tall water bottles.

The functions on the front are very useful as well.
There is even an area on the top right hinge that will communicate with your smartphone for diagnostics should it be necessary.

All I need now is for this baby to be as reliable as the top freezer Whirlpool that I just sold still working flawlessly after 16 years...only time will tell.

UPDATE 9/18/14
Now 10 months later and still working beautifully. The unit is quiet, consistent temperature (by thermometer). The stainless steel paddles for the ice maker and water have scratched a bit but they are METAL not PLASTIC and I can deal with that. The in the door ice maker does have a limited capacity but at the gain of no intrusion into the refrigerator compartment. If I am anticipating a need to a lot of ice for entertainment, I dump the ice into the ice bin in the freezer and viola, plenty of ice for the occasion. Small inconvenience for a major space advantage.
Unit works great and like I said in my original review..only time will tell.

If you're looking for a french door refrigerator in the 33" width, you don't have many options. This is one of the few.

It could so nearly have been a great fridge, but it's the design that brings it down.

The doors are clunky, and the buttons on the outside are unappealing and cheap looking. But the inside is functional and though the drawers are a bit plasticy, it's pretty good.

The worst part about it is the water/ice dispenser. When you think about it, you pay quite a premium for a thru-the-door water dispenser compared with fridges that don't have them. The best thing about this one is that the internal mechanism for dispenser is slim. Unfortunately, it clogs up far too often. But the actual dispensing section is the real let down. The water comes out in a weak trickle from what I can only describe as a urethra, positioned in a way that always catches people out first time they use it, and always makes them laugh at it. But whoever designed the paddles you push to dispense water or ice needs their design license revoked. They made the paddles to curve outwards a way that is not complimentary to a glass or bottle - you're basically trying to hold a curved surface up against another curved surface, so your glass is always slipping about on the paddle. If they'd have curved it the other way it would not have been a problem.

This is my first review of anything on Amazon. I did not purchase this on Amazon (and I see I paid too much....)

The fridge is perfect for our family of 4, I love all the food bins, the shelves are easily moved, the ice dispenser and water is easy to use. Food stays at optimal temps, the freezer on the bottom is the only way to go and it is huge for the size of the fridge. Internal lighting is soft but covers the entire fridge. The door actually holds 2 two gallon milk jugs on one side!

Overall it is very quiet and I am really pleased I bought it.

Cons? yes of course, no review is complete with out them, but note these are nitpicks mostly:

Water filter is expensive ,rats
It takes a few times to learn to use the water dispenser, but its so simple kids do it right with no mess once shown how.
The ice maker is great for cubes but stinks when using the crushed ice option as it freezes in the unit. We banned sno cones and no more issues :-)

Hope you enjoy the fridge as much as I do

We were looking for a narrow fridge, but didn't want to give up some of the features we wanted. We wanted in door water and ice, and also good storage space. This fridge has everything we wanted. The water in the door is great and with the water in the front you can fill water bottles, or anything even if it's large. The ice works great, and the space is huge inside. Very happy with this purchase,

This product gives 25 cu. ft. of storage in a width that most manufacturers offer only 19 - 22 cu. ft.
The fridge is quiet and spacious and has a large freezer area. The 'l door open' beeper is a big plus.
Lots of shelve area. Very satisfied.

If you have found your way to this review, it is likely that you have already discovered there are few options available for homes that lack the full 36" width needed to fit the wide variety of "big boys" available. So we landed upon this LG model as the best compromise of features and capacity to replace our 20 year old Kitchen Aid single door with bottom freezer (still working). In the process, we also discovered that newer models are slightly taller, so do your homework and be prepared to do some woodworking!
The inside space arrangement is radically different from our old model, and requires some re-thinking of how you store things. At this point, I am wondering if we wouldn't be better off removing one of the shelves in order to accommodate more tall items. The biggest difference is the lack of door storage when compared to the old one with the longer single door. The ice maker occupies much of the left door, so things that might have been grouped together in the old unit now must be separated. The freezer space, on the other hand, is much improved over our old Kitchen Aid. It is both larger and more convenient due to the pull-out drawer.
Performance-wise, the electronic settings and controls allow much more accurate adjustment than the older model. The alarm for "door ajar" is very handy when you have guests using it. Based on experimentation, this thing freezes items much quicker- I used the freezer last night to chill down some cooked asparagus, which is something I would never have even thought to try on the old fridge. Air circulation in the refrigerator sector is very good, and the full length drawer for meats and cheeses does a good job of keeping things fresh. I do believe we will realize a small savings from being able to store items longer while maintaining freshness.
