I love this phone! It is small, simple, and does everything well that it is supposed to do. Of course it has caller ID and call history (How silly to say otherwise. To see your call history just press the green 'TALK' button you use for dialing a number, same button as in almost every other cell phone.)

Honestly, I am shocked that of all the cell phones I have owned this is my favorite so far. I use a phone for calling and a little bit of text. This phone is small, it does calls and text well, everything works smoothly and simply, actually it is so much more intuitive, simple, smooth, and well thought out than most of the expensive phones you get with a contract plan. None of my previous phones cost less than $100, but this one usually runs around $20 (base price, not including any contract tie-ins or promotions) and it is better than any of them. How long will it last? I don't know, but honestly it doesn't seem poorly made, all the buttons are crisp and everything locks together nicely. Other than being so light, which isn't necessarily a negative, it seems as good in manufacturing quality as any other phone I have had.

If what you want is a simple, small phone for mainly just talking and a bit of texting this phone will be great for you. It has no camera or bluetooth capability, but it has a REAL headphone jack, and a simple push button on/off speakerphone. As the phone is small, so are the buttons, if that is a problem for you then this is not your best choice.

Bottom line: it's small, simple, easy to use, cheap, and it just works. I would recommend this phone to everyone who just needs a simple phone that is intended to be used as a phone not a computer.

If you want a smart phone obviously this is not the one for you.

I bought this phone for my boyfriends mom. She was using netpay and it cost her too much. The phone was in great condition and cost less than the website offered it for.

I was replacing the LG101 that I lost on Christmas. I love the phone and was so thrilled to be find it on Amazon as it is an old phone by todays standards. Like many people, I am not interested in all the bells and whistles accompanying the newest phones. I don't require internet although the phone does have it. I have a computer, and Tablet so I enjoy the simplicity of this phone. The thing I enjoy most about the LG101 is that I do not have to assign ring tones to individual caller. When programed, the phone announces the name of each caller. What a delight!!

Coverage was okay, but only out on the deck of our house in the Sierra Nevada Foothills, however, the voicemail did not work consistently and incoming calls didn't always 'ring.' It was mostly for emergencies and it was the cheapest monthly rate ($20.00) with coverage I could find at the time. The phone itself was very reasonably priced too--I think I only paid $30.00 for it at CVS. I didn't text or do anything fancy but it mostly served our purposes. Now we've found that GreatCall's Jitterbug has even better coverage (actually covers INSIDE the house) so I'm upgrading after almost 3 years of service with Virgin Mobile's payLo phone. The actual phone itself never had any problems and kept a charge a long time and still works. I could never find a car charger to work with the phone, even thru Virgin Mobile, and couldn't get other accessories easily. It did come with a home charger, of course.

It does what I expect from a phone - talking & texting. I'm happy with my cheap no-frills Virgin Mobile plan. The phone is small, inexpensive, and damage resistant. This is the 2nd LG101 that I've owned and the last one I had I dropped a million times with no problems. The only reason I got a new one is that I wore down the buttons the last 3 and a half years texting. Paying <$20 for a phone makes more sense than spending hundreds of dollars for one where the screen can easily crack that you'd feel very bad about!

I loved the original phone because of its petite size and reliable battery and that it took basic no frills texts (no MMS/photos, SMS/text only). For voice and basic texting it is great. The screen is tiny but it will also do internet in a pinch. Don't bother using the games or screen for internet unless you have great vision or magnifier. Does not include way to play music or videos. But for a little more than basic functions on a voice phone, this is a pretty good choice for what was once a $10 phone. I give it five stars because I am fond of the phone's size and reliability.

I haven't changed over from my old phone but this looks like it will serve my phone needs very well. I don't use the cell all the time just if I need to check on family or their is emergency.
